Jeff to make changes tonight?

Confguide

He said: "I am going to make two or three changes to the side from the weekend just to freshen things up a little with two games in a short space of time."

The obvious one for me is Keeling swaping places with Clarke. Don`t think we are going to win much in the air up front if Wokings giant centrehalf (Oliver?) plays, maybe Hallett or Tait in for Gregory? I wouldn`t change the defence or midfield after they looked fairly solid on saturday.

An excellent point tonight. As usual we conceded a goal just before half time however. How many times this season so far have we conceded a goal just before half time or in the last 5 minutes of the game? Pleased however with a 1-1 draw away at Woking.

Good to see Jason Hallett get on again near the end and by all accounts he nearly scored.

Mario on the bench again but didn't get on - again...

Very good performance last night both from the team and the Yellow Army. A good work horse performance again from Ibe, rounded off with a well taken goal. Fantastic to see Kezie and the rest of the players ran over to us to celebrate, there really seems to be a good attitude at the club at the moment.

A shame we conceded the way we did, but I think it's fair to say that we would have all taken a 1-1 draw if offered. Saying that, JK almost sealed things late in the game with a shot that went agonisingly close.

A good sing-off second half between the Yellow Army and the Woking Rabble, and of course we came out on top!

I think most people would have taken a point before the game so well done lads. It sounded a solid performance from the radio commentary, with Ward,Ibe and Sedgemore coming in for special praise. Shame about the goal 10 seconds before halftime, sounded like a lack of talking between McKinney and Chenery.

Well done to all who travelled to the game, from the match report i get the impression they didn`t like the drums There are also some photos

Excellent performance from the lads. Played some good football in the first half and deserved to go 1-0 up. The goal conceded was disappointing but this stuff happens in football. This was the kind of game last year where we would of lost but this year we seem to be more prepared to battle for the points.

The lads seem to really appreciate the effort us supporters put in as showed by the celebrations when we scored. Bimson my MOTM, defended well and his distribution is excellent.

The Woking mob didn’t like us going behind their goal and giving them a lesson in the singing department. They couldn’t handle the YELLOW ARMY for the 45mins

Good performance by the lads on the field and a good performance by the lads & lass’s off the field.

I was trying desperately to find commentary on the radio. Which station was it on?

So Woking fans didn't like the drums eh? Excellent - they are not for their benefit so who cares. Well done to the team on getting a point and to the lads of the Yellow Army for putting on yet another great show and p*****g off their fans.

Everone have a look at their forum. There all moaning about the drum's and saying they should be banned. They abviously dont like an atmosphere at the ground or maybe they were just gutted about being out sang on there own patch.

I agree Ken, Keeling should of come on earlier than what he did as you could see their defence was knackerd and could only result in hacking down our players. Thought clark had a good game specially in the first half as he beat their right back every time and he won nearly every header but keeling's pace with 15mins to go would of caused them big problems

BBC Essex. Jay Conroy mentioned the good support the team has been getting, keep it up lads.

A Woking fan was moaning how sad it was to see 40 year old blokes bashing a drum, have we got new drummers or has the unhealthy living finally caught up with some of our fans?

Really enjoyed the game and the atmosphere last night - top notch.

Woking seem to me to have one of the biggest ego's in non league football when you read their reports and forum - they were exactly the same last season.

As for the football - we played it to feet and there was plenty of movement. Good all round team performance. We created plenty of half chances and IMHO felt we could have had all three points - especially when we picked the tempo up towards the end of the game.

Would have settled for a point prior to the game. Own goal was sloppy - not sure who was at fault, Chenners heading back towards his goal or Mckinney coming for the ball - either way communications breakdown but [****!!****] happens and it normally costs us a lot dearer. Officiating was inconsistent again last night. Half a dozen fouls against us in the opening 10 minutes and when the ref decides to set his stall out he books JK for his, and the teams, first real offence.

Not sure why the subs weren't made sooner as they struggled to defend against Clarke and that wing all night - so bringing on some fresh legs a little earlier may have caused Woking even more problems and we could have taken a deserved lead. Presume the attitude was "it's working so why change it"

Southport at home on Saturday is winnable and could keep our little run going followed by a couple of tougher games. If we play with the spirit we showed last night we may get a few more hard earned points.

40 yr olds beating drums..? good keep it up, beats the library a lot of woking fans would seem to prefer..

far to many people these days poncing around acting their age... fk that have some fun..

a lot of these so called bigger clubs get the hump when we get a result at their places.. i suppose after a lot of last seasons performances they assume an easy three points...

roll on saturday

Great result last night. Thought the lads showed tremendous spirit to get a draw at a Woking side who will probably be nearer the top of the table.

Bimson was outstanding in defence. Tackled well and distribution was superb. Not sure about the Echo giving Mints MOTM but thought he had a decent game.

Sedgy controlled the midfield and Clarkey is improving with every game. Great awareness from Ibe to latch on to the loose ball and score. The guy is a legend and ran his heart out last night.

Superb support last night. The noise in the second half was unbelievable and think the players really appreciated it.

Not sure about 40 year olds banging drums. I got a few dirty looks when I carried one of the drums through the turnstiles and past the home fans. I think I muttered something about being one of the roadies!!

A quick comment on the Snooker bar we went into before the game. Girl in there was rushed off her feet but still managed to cook us some quality meals!! The sausage and beans was quality!!

Oh yes and my hand still aches from banging the steel terracing to create some noise!!

Quality night.

They really are a fickled bunch at Woking. They are looking at banning drums and the like at their ground. Roadie for who Yellow - Kate Bush??

Stop The Atmosphere!!

Also a good quote by Glenn Cockerill from the main site........

Quote:
Glenn had praise for Canvey: “they are a decent side and, all credit to them, they came at us in the second half and didn’t try to close the game down. I don’t think they’ll struggle this season.”
