PRESS RELEASE

13 May 2002

Tom Loizou and Enfield Football Club have decided to part company with immediate effect.

The parting was mutually agreed as desirable when, as manager of the first team, Mr Loizou could not agree with certain guidelines and personnel changes that the chairman wishes to introduce.

Mr Lazarou would like to place on record his appreciation of the work Tom Loizou has put in on behalf of the club and wishes him well for the future.

Tom will be succeeded by Terry Back, about whom full details will follow.

Former Wisbech Town and Aylesbury United. They even have this song on the Ducks on the Web:

Terry Back
He's got no hair,
But we don't care,
Terry, Terry Back
Terry Back, Terry Back,
Terry, Terry, Back
He's got no hair,
But we don't care,
Terry, Terry Back.

Sounds like he has less hair then me right now then...

Ah but can he do something with no money, no direction and no players to speak of?

He must be quackers to take this one!

Good luck to him all the same (except when you lot get the bottle enough to play us)!

Good luck Terry

Terry was hercys assistant last year with Aylesbury and was very popular, he is a very good motivator and is always really cheerful, he got on well with the players and fans and always had a laugh. I think he will do quite well for you.

Terry is a top man and did very well for us last season. He has very good contacts at CAMBRIDGE UTD ,. We had two of there players last year. Terry gets the best out of players and he knows lots of good young lads. ALL THE VERY BEST TERRY.. See you next season...

Oh dear,
although i am not an Enfield Fan (was for many years though)
This could be a big mistake.....
Yes he done well as a number two at Aylesbury ,But Bishops Stortford sacked him after about three weeks when they found out his CV was all lies !!!!!
Ware got rid of him after one training session when he tried to get the players to play 18 a side !!!!!
the wisbeach fans saw through him too.
he also played a season and a half for my sunday side and he was'nt good enough for us !
this is a man who claimed to have played for Woking and Fisher !

jon and the Horse [****!!****].

I told Tom Loizou to his face that he was rubbish (i never hid my views). He replied in the local papers that he would have the last laugh and would turn things around. He failed. I didn't rate him and when he run out of excuses he left. I feel totally justified in my comments.

Enough said.

Good luck to Terry. Judging by the 2001-2002 League table, he looks to have his work cut out!

How can you say that he did a good job. I will always remember him for the following...

1) The disgraceful part he played in Jim Chandlers sacking.

2) His shocking treatment of Wayne Brown

3) The performances at Heybridge and Hampton, two of the worst that I witnessed in 22 years of watching EFC.

4) His inability to accept criticism, he told supporters that if they didn't like it then they could f*** off. Something the majority of us ended up doing.

5) Players such as Matt Bird, David Thompson and George Gregoriou... some of the worst to ever wear an Enfield shirt. They even made Danny Adams look like a good player!!

Anyway, I do have a little sympathy for him, anyone who has ever worked with Lazarou deserves that!!

How long before the new fella resigns after another of Laz's famous budget-cuts?

I accept Tom had no money. But he knew that when he came to the club. Why then the bragging 'Non league Man U''I will have the last laugh''I'll turn it around''

Why did he try to blame Jim Chandler for the teams performance in the first season.

Why George Gregoriou ?

i agree with all the comments made about Tom. He was not a great manager , but he did do well to keep us up. If THM has left Enfield why does he feel the need to continue to have a go at us. I think that both Efc and ETfc would be better off if his existence was terminated.

Neither of our last two managers were really up to the job. Support for both of them is just down to personality , or bloody mindedness. THE CLUB I LOVE AND HAVE SUPPORTED ALL MY LIFE ARE A COMPLETE SHAMBLES AND HAVE BEEN FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS. I hate to say this but i think we should disolve the club now while it still has some of its reputation left.

It must be hard to continue to support a club that is clearly being run down by its' owner. Those of us at ETFC must admire the remnants of EFC support for their patience. There is no point in the two sets of supporters arguing amongst themselves when they both have a common enemy.....wonder who??!! ETFC have had an outstanding season and it has been great fun to follow it. I agree with the last comment....EFC should die now...it is ill....why wait for relegation (is it true that 4 go down?).
