<strong>It must be hard to continue to support a club that is clearly being run down by its' owner. Those of us at ETFC must admire the remnants of EFC support for their patience. There is no point in the two sets of supporters arguing amongst themselves when they both have a common enemy.....wonder who??!! ETFC have had an outstanding season and it has been great fun to follow it. I agree with the last comment....EFC should die now...it is ill....why wait for relegation (is it true that 4 go down?).</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The revised Ryman League constitution for next season (subject always to ratification at the AGM in June) appears to be:

Premier Division:
Teams from last season less bottom club relegated - top club promoted + 3 promoted from Div 1 + 1 relegateg from APL (sorry conference!) = 24. Four teams to be relegated 2002/03 two each to the new Div 1 North and South (or East and West depending on who you listen to).

2 * Div 1:
Current Div 1 (after promotion -3) + whole of Div 2 (less Romford who resigned and Cheshunt and one other who were relegated) + what appears to be NINE from div 3. This pool will then be divided into the two leagues. For 2002/03 top two of each will be promoted to premier division.

Div 2
Everyone else who is left. Promotion and relegation to still be automatic, subject to having 'B' ground for 2 seasons (?). Other Feeder leagues will still have to apply.

Trust that's as clear as mud. It could all change though depending on appeals and the like to the FA.

Right then,

It's taken me 5 mins to come up with this team of jokers.
I challenge you all to come up with a side that would lose to this lot.....

Mr X's all time worst EFC X1 (1980-2001)

Leigh Hawkes

Doug McClure
Peter Sim
Peter Smith
Gary Cooper

Neil Luff
Steve Molesey
Danny Adams
Matt Bird

George Gregoriou
David Thompson

Subs From
Andy Cope
Joe Francis
Barry Lakin
Eric Young
Dave Mallett (GK)

I've probably missed out a few "classics" along the way.

Do your worst. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" />

A bit unfair to put Neil Luff wide right as he played one game at centre back and one in centre midfield. I'd move him to centre in place of Danny Adams and bring in Carlos Francis on the wing.

Graham Lane should be there somewhere, as should Mark Falco.

This is all to depressing for words. Whilst casting an eye of envy at the fun and enjoyment that the ETFC supporters seemed to have rediscovered this season, I decided that there was no reason that I could find to justify turning my back on the club after 24 years ( 22 of which were filled with the pride and the usual ups and downs of being a real football supporter). I therfore decided to stick with the E's. After probably 17 consecutive seasons of 50+ appearances the transformation from Burton and Bishop to Thompson and Gregoriou was getting too much this year and I have found myself, like many others, finding excuses not to leave the comfort of my armchair for the wet and windy trip to Hertfordshire to see the shower of sh**e that now masquerades as the E's. I can assure Steve , Tom , Paul and Scott that if they had seen what I have seen this year the amusing 'worst' XI banter would be sadly academic.. try vintage 2001-2002 and look no further. I was one of Lazarou's / Loizou's and the Cheshunt Programme Editor's most vociferous critics on the old TGTLS site and I did not stay on because of them , but rather despite them. I admired the work done at ETFC but refused to be defeated by Tony and his ego fuelled sycophants. Whilst it is naiive to think that supporting a football team is going to be fun it has been depressing and humiliating to see what has happened to our club. For those of you that remember what the atmosphere used to be like for an MSC game against Staines on a freezing February night that seems like the Istanbul derby compared to going to a league game against St Albans / Hendon now. Tell me Derek who are you expecting to turn up in August ?.... I feel marginally better after that .

Is George Gregoriou a misprint for George Georgiou or are there two of them? I thought Mr Georgiou was OK last season against us.

There are indeed two Georges.

Georgiou is the good one signed from Purfleet who did as much as anyone to keep the side up in 2000/01.

Gregorio(u) - there is some doubt about the spelling - is the useless one signed from Cheshunt who had b*gger all impact, and who by all accounts was no better last season.

MattD, re the Stortford sacking of Terry Back. In his 3 week reign of terror he got rid of star player Scott Forbes to Braintree on a free, who quickly went on to play for Southend Utd. Mmmm, good judgement and for that alone I could fetch him a fourpenny one. As far as the sacking reasons go, let's just say the Board felt that giving him the heave ho in the car-park at Southbury Road (for that is where it happened) was justified. Full circle for Tewwy.

Left Side....

A great rant!! Much respect for sticking with the E's, it doesn't sound like much fun.

I now recall that the last time we met we agreed that any players appearing under Tom Loizou should be banned from our "Worst X1's" as it made it too easy.

I shall have a non-Loizou effort tomorrow.

It would be great to see you at a Town match next season.

All the best.

I just wanted to make the point as "keeping us up" is interpreted by many as something of an achievement. The lack of ambition by Laz the spaz was one of the reasons that I got fed up of Enfield. I recall the meeting when we were at Southbury Road and he said "Top 5 is the best we can hope for this year" that was about 5 seasons ago and I remonstrated with him as he left .

But I digress. What Shakar and the others are saying is:-

ENFIELD DIDNT FINISH BOTTOM THIS YEAR

Now if that was the limit of their ambition last year no wonder we all left to form our new club.

I think the important point to make is that a club's supporters don't just run the club (I don't mean here manage it, I mean provide most of the funds through entry fees, buying merchandiseetc...) but they ARE the club. I my mind ETFC is EFC re-born together with all the history of this once powerful non-league outfit. By moving over to ETFC no-one is being disloyal to EFC because they ARE EFC. ETFC is EFC (if you can understand that logic). All that remains is a crooked chairman who owns NOTHING. Come on all fans of ffotball in Enfield. Supprt your club. You will be welcomed and will have something to feel proud about again.

Mr Leftside good to hear from you again, you have my upmost respect standing by EFC it doesn't sound rewarding.

I think My Happy has hit it on the head. By watching ETFC we do not feel we have turned our backs on EFC. We feel that the spirit you remember has followed us.
