Well the Echo says we are likely to field an unchanged team so going by their recents reports i expect a whole new X1 to start <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />.Seems no point changing the side at the moment unless we have any knocks, let`s hope we can keep the good performances going.

Glenn comments in the Echo that we have had to cut back on some of the more attacking parts of our game to make sure we start picking up the points and he hopes the fans understand this. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> I`d certainly like us to be known as a team that`s hard to beat and with the attacking talent we have in the squad we are always likely to score.

i see mad dogs in the squad for tomorrow.whats happend is i think after games like kiddy etc we have to tighten up things and maybe a point away is better than a defeat hence maybe why keeling has not been put on lately so much.

i dont mind losing a bit of atacking flair to secure ponts atthis stage of the season, especially last minute points.. but to be honest, i though against scarborough keeping two up front and atacking when we could was what gave our defence the breaks it needed.. i hope dont sacrifice entertainment completly , look at liverpool, euro champions and boring as fk!

I think we should concentrate more on the defence. Even without Lee we have proved we can score goals but the defence is still terribly leaky. If we can remain strong at the back then we should pick up the points.

felt sorry for Steve, still didnt he make a couple of off the line clearances?

Kez rightly man of the match.

worrying to see Dom going off with a knock, hopefully it wont be serious.

As for Jason Hallet, very well taken header, quality written all over him. Congratulations Jason, on what will be the first of many goals for the Gulls. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" />

Made it difficult for ourselves today but Southport are a decent side and could have come away with a point.

We dominated the first 30 minutes and Sedgy was unlucky to hit the post with a deflected effort.

After Southport scored we lost our way a bit and became very scrappy. I was always confident we would get back into the game and from a great cross by Bimson, Greggors rose above the keeper and Ibe was on hand to knock the ball home.

We brought Jason on and he looked very lively. He might have scored earlier hitting a tame effort at the keeper. From a brilliant run and cross by Clarky, Jason scored with a bullet header at the far post. The joy on his face and the celebrations were a joy to watch. Felt so pleased for the lad.

We hung on rather desperately after that, with some rather erratic clearances. We deserved the three points but didn't play the ball on the floor enough in the second half for my liking. Southport were a better side than I thought and in fairness we've played better this season and lost.

Ibe was outstanding and deserved his man of the match award. We're scoring goals without Lee which is very positive and Ibe is such a handful. The way he holds up the ball and brings others into the game is superb.

Roll on Stevenage on Tuesday.

Not a game of high quality but plenty of passion and action. Wardy proved he won`t miss from a yard if given the chance, if only it was in the opposition`s box! Ibe was outstanding, he never gave Southport`s defenders a moments rest and really deserved his motm award. Good to see McGhee involved again, it can`t be easy being out of the first team but he`s shown a great attitude to force his way back in.

Great to see Hallett score the winner, his reaction after he scored summed up how much it meant to him and that`s the sort of player you want to wear the Canvey shirt.

i though southport did enough to earn a draw.. as mentioned not the classiest game ever seen at the lane.. mckinney was excellent, potter will have to wait a bit longer..

their centre backs looked knackered at the end with ibe and hallet making them work hard up untill the last few minutes when they went for the equaliser...

a bit disjointed from us but 3 points that we would not have secured last season..

Ibe strength on the ball is amazing; how he managed to ward of their massive number 6 for the entire game must have been knackering in itself.

I must say I thought it unusual to bring Tait on when he did, an obvious choice for most at that time would have been Noto but as been said before 'we wont go there' sadly.

I thought it strange that Noto didn't come on. Problem was Tait was going to come on just as we scored. I reckon Kingy may have been taking Ibe off but had his hand forced by Dom's injury.
