With just four home wins and a total of only eleven home and away all season, season 2001/02 is, officially, the worst ever campaign for Enfield F.C. in the Isthmian League. Everyone currently associated with the club should be proud to claim their part in that 'honour'.

Last season even beat the disasterous 1973/74 campaign when we finished seventeenth with just thirteen wins and fifty points from 42 games, including that infamous 4-1 defeat at Clapton.

But hey! Let's enjoy it while it lasts. I can't see the club finishing three places above the drop zone in twelve months time, can you?

Bottom by Christmas, relegated by Easter, if we last that long!

Discuss?

Yep, he would be MORE than welcome at the Town. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Seriously though, we have had enough of this bickering over the last season - can't we all just get along?

Oi Rich, thanks for your support too!

I saw 35 of those 42 games last season and got VFM from about half a dozen.

With folk like you at EFC, no wonder folk like me will end up watching next season's Essex Senior League champions.

See you in Ryman Division One for season 2003/04.

I agree with the Ghost. Enfield were just appaling last season. I saw most of the games, and helped out on match days, but i still think that we were rubbish. Why are we no longer allowed to criticise without being told to go and watch another team.

P.S. I may just go and watch another club next season, as long as they dont pick one of our ex managers as their next.

I am very disappointed that Enfield had their worst season since the Athenian League days. I hope next season will be better, but I do not see any signs of it yet. Because of the knock-on effects of the reduction of television money for professional clubs, the standard in all lower leagues is likely to be slightly higher than last season. So Enfield may need a slightly stronger team to stay in the same place. I shall be pleased when I read about some strengthenings.
