Enfield 2-1 corby town

A quiet opening saw few chances at either end Danny clarke tested corby keeper darren Watts after 20 mins which watts blocked.Neither defence was giving anything away until a trip on danny Clarke on 45 mins just outside the box presented E's with a free kick. Up stepped kevin kilroy who blasted his shot firmly into the bottom corner. That was the last action of the half. Enfield youngster sammy Judge was having an impressive debut and it got even better on 47 mins when he cut in from the right avoiding two lunging tackles to fire under watts to put Es 2-0 to the good. on 53 mins Danny Clarke's pace got him through in a 1 on 1 with watts only for danny to crash his shot against the crossbar. Corby were now beginning to get some movement going and got themselves back in the game when on 61 mins a punch clear by lee Robinson who was out of position was returned by corby's Carl Holmes and mark whittington's desperate clearance only succeeded in him diverting the ball into his own net. corby were now much the better side forcing many corners and freekicks and had a good shout for a penalty but was waved away by mr ross. A very long last 25 mins it turned out to be for E's defence. Although new singing Maurice Byfield had a great chance to wrap the game up when he rolled the ball past watts only for Mark burrows to clear off the line to Danny Clarke who lashed his shot inches wide. On 70 mins an absolute horror tackle by Corby's chris goodman on sammy Judge saw him get a straight red card from mr ross . sammy had to be helped from the field and was replaced by sherwin stanley. This tended to slow corby down somewhat although another late shout for a penalty was waved away again by mr ross. A late flurry of pressure by corby came to nothing and E's recorded a very exciting win. Att 92

Dont know about that! Up untill he sent there four off for that "Tackle" if you could call one, he was shocking!!! didint give us much, and 90% of the 50/50's he gave to Corby. ONE of the worst this season so far I thought.

Also a big well done to Sam Judge what a game had corbys 3 and 4 in his back pocket till the four tried to end sam's life!!

That tackle was a leg breaker ,I think sammy saw that evil git coming for him just in the nick of time and partially got out of the way.
