had a browse on the site you gave us...bit out of date with our new boys,,,as well as benno, jonesy and risso, we also have gavin mcgowan..24 gooner 1st team app's...adam locke 400 nationwide games...luton and others... and recently andy martin..crystal plc... 24 welsh unders caps..most of them will be waiting for you on tuesday but not benno...sadly a week away yet..on top of all that the old school are as good as ever and we do have a strong squad...but footie's a funny old game....you'll be up for it..... by the way...not being a kill joy but a word of advice...the stadium is in an expensive resi area and we get alot of stick from the snots (neigbours) plse don't over do the siren in case the stewards knock it on the head..good luck..see you tuesday.

Snobby Residents? That's even more of a reason to get the siren going. One resident at Walton and Hersham threatened to call the police, and then we foound out the local Comissioner lived behind the ground ;-)

There's a few good names there. You muxt be have a big weekly budget (even without Mr Jones).

maybe in your view but not in ours, you have seemed to be a decent fellow thus far but you latest missive has an air of disrespect about it. (perhaps you are not the same person) We have been and are, very welcoming and we would ask you please to respect our views..if the siren represents a nuisance to the community, we will remove it from the ground. When we come to your ground we will respect your views, we ask please that you respect ours...In respect of your other query, what we pay our players is our business and not yours...look after your own club and leave us to look after ours, which we will. Look forward to your visit for the match, please consider our comments. Good luck..

Sorry "In the know" , that was my good self. We don't have a problem with keeping the siren to a minimum. In reality, it is only usually set-off when we get a corner or a goal (and with our injuries and suspensions at the moment, that's unlikely!)

We've been fine pretty much wherever we've used it, apart from one home game against Tooting, where a poor old boy was having flashbacks to the Blitz, so we knocked it on the head. (the siren, not the old boy ;-).

Anyway, I think tonight should be a good game, with a half decent crowd and a bit of noise. See you there.

My view about the siren would be that if it's going to cause too much grief then to leave it at home. It should only be used to compliment our singing not as a replacement for it. Being a night game, it's probably only fair on the residents not to use it but my view will not be in the majority, I would imagine.

Given the pleasant weather we have had over the last few days, how's the pitch looking and is the game likely to be called off?

thanks for the positive response, as we said earlier, we are not looking to spoil anyone's fun but we are very tightly squeezed into a resi area, another aspect of concern is a planning application for a new stand......hope you understand....the pitch was good yesterday and we will be looking at it around 2pm, if its bad we will immediately post the news to avoid unneccessary travel although its difficult to make the decision without the referee, however, we do have the right to call the game off, but lets see what happens, at the moment, the rain has stopped, so lets keep our fingers crossed....by the way...we're not listening to your tales of injuries etc...thats our game!!!!

12.45 and the pitch is still in good shape...raining a little but not to bad...check out the radio ads for the game on essex 96.3 at 2.54,3.15,4.15,4.34,5.34,6.54 and talk sport at 2.50,3.20 and 5.40.

hopefully see u all tonite.

Glad the pitch is holding up all right. Looking forward to getting 3 Points . As for the siren leave it at home (I bloody hate the thing). Injurys? Maybe a couple but we should still put up a good fight. Looking forward to the Cowley brothers confrontation. If we win tonight and at Northwood on saturday, then challenging for promotion is back on track. Come on you Hawks.

2.25 and the pitch is holding ok....it is however raining very heavily now and if it keeps like this we may be in trouble...another post in one hour...we have asked the ref to come down early just in case. Good news is we had the drainage done close season and it seems to be working...good surface for passing...not for up and under....hope to see a busy house tonite.....although the locals won't like the rain...they've been spoilt so far this season....if we play we'll enjoy it...lots of mistakes on a wet surface....loads of goals....current odds;

5/4 home win

7/4 away win

even money draw.

ah...you obviously like our radio ads...good aren't they...bit different to grab some airtime from the big boys for a change...it will be the stadium of dreams soon...when the new stand goes up next May.....we have come from nowhere...fortunate double promotion in one year accepted...but nontheless...we are playing well this season and our dream is premier footie next year...we won't be far away either although we all know there are no certainties in this wonderful game of ours. We all have dreams hawkster, you too. Hope to see you tonite and I'll give you 9/4 the away win........

Hopefully you will see me tonight. Your ground is the same as ours with an awfull running track around it. Too far away from the pitch to be a dream stadium i think. Good advert anyway. 9-4 I may take you up on that.

take your point but our track is only a six lane practice track and its not to bad at all...you'll be surprised how close you are to the footie...not perfect but everything has a price and the athletics is important to the local community....on the weather front, my man at the ground has just reported from the south end goalmouth and the rain has stopped and the wind is blowing and the pitch is almost perfect...another post in an hour...

Hopefully see you tonight. COME ON YOU HAWKS

right you gloomy lot, my man at the ground assures me that whatever happens the pitch will play...(he is usually right) so get yourselves down to the cost del hornchurch and leave the siren in rainy old 'arlow...good luck and enjoy yourselves......my prediction by the way is 3-2 to the urchins but then again I am the man who backed Newcastle to win the champions league this year!!!!!!
