Enfield 1-2 fleet Town
A game that showed much promise came to an abrupt end today as Enfield crashed out of the F A vase at the first hurdle. E's were much more the better side in the opening half hour with plenty of possession and with Fleet packing out their defence restricted enfield to a few blocked shots although Fleet keeper Justin Gray was hardlly troubled. On 35 mins Mark Whittington tangled with a fleet forward and conceded a free kick, This saw mark leave the field with bruised ribs and was replaced by Gary Hoy. From the free kick E's hadn't organised properly and James Rose was left totally on his own to plant his header past the stranded lee Robinson. Fleet then just rode out the first half catching danny Clarke offside on several occasions. In the second half E's again were on top and on 48 mins Danny clarke blasted a shot into the side netting . on 51 mins a kevin kilroy freekick was backheaded against his own crossbar by steve noakes and alistair hestelton shot wide but on 70 mins Enfield equalised when Owen Beale's cross was headed into the corner of the net by sid nelsons diving header. Fleet were now very much on the back foot but their defence was holding out . On 83 mins lee robinson flapped at a long punt forward and dropped the ball into the path of Terry Davies but an amazing miss by him Shooting over from just a couple of yards. The game looked to be petering out for a draw until Gary Hoy gave away an unnecessary free kick away on 95 mins . with fleet pushing everyone forward as the ref was about to blow up. A goalmouth scramble saw James Rose score his second from close range. And the game was over. A very disappointing game that should have been won but lost.

The team that beat harlow and corby was the one they should stick with ..........Fleet were not a good side it is very frustrating to have 75 / 80% of a game and lose it. But thats our luck I'm afraid.

One decent defender and one decent midfielder would make so much difference.

Can't be the old adorable Daniel we knew and loved. Nah he never get offside!

At an ETFC players prize evening he was presented with a framed copy of the Offside rule. Daniel sort of saw the funny side of the joke.! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laughuncontrollable.gif" alt="" />

All the papers I saw on Saturday had the fixtures as ETFC v Fleet and EFC v Berko. Oops indeed.

Still, as long as the FA send the prize money to the right club and put the right club into the next round...

Dundee and Dundee United don't seem to have the same problem.

BTW how can you have two clubs in the same city, one of which claims to be United? They self-evidently aren't.

Howsabout a bit of history.

"There was one more fundamental change to take place in 1923. In order to attract wider appeal, the club [Dundee hibernian] decided to drop the reference to Hibernian from their title. Dundee City was their favoured choice but this led to a protest by city rivals Dundee. Ultimately the name of Dundee United was adopted and accepted by the powers that be on 26th October 1923. Twenty four hours later there was a less than auspicious start when the newly named United went down 3-0 to Dumbarton at Boghead."

Now what about Manchester United and Manchester City.

Yeah your right mate . But the warts and varicose veins put me off. I'll have to get sozzled before I'd considor that one. But saying that they're all the same when you turn the light off. Ask terry Back that geezer got through the entire bar staff at boreham wood except big tits mandy i think the prospect of him made her turn a funny colour.
