Todays Game

Much better performance today but just sooo saddened that it could only be Canvey that could turn a certain victory into a nearly defeat.

I may be wrong but didnt every one of their goals come from the same area of the Park.

Thought it wrong that Keelo appeared to have had his brief changed from attack to tuck in and defend.

i Think canvey played very well 2day! i really did think we had it in the bag but obviously not but still it wasnt a loose . It was good to see Danny back in goal and i think he didnt do a bad job especially saving that pen . Good game all round except for the draw when we should of won!

But keep your heads uo canvey we're doing good!

Disappointing in the end that we didnt win but a draw was probably a fair result in the end. We really saw today the difference between part time and full time in the last 20 minutes.

I still think we will be ay for a mid table finish but we do need to win a game soon. Next game is Forest Green away a club very similar to Canvey we really need to win that game.

cant criticise the lads 2day. they gave their all, but why didnt we make use of all our subs?

when players are looking tired bring on fresh legs.it was obvious that at the end our lads were running on empty.

still 2 be honset if asked this morning if i would have settled 4 a draw, i would have taken it.

hope we can take that kind of commitment into the forest green game.

come on canvey, really u did well 2day.

Think it was a combination of we threw it away and Morecambe were quality. In fairness a draw was a right result. Neither defence looked in control and both sides played some good attacking football.

For me Keeling was outstanding and great to see Tait off the mark at last. He played well today.

Yep Cangull, myself and a few people standing around me noticed and commented on it. Wonder who was covering

Morecambe are a big, strong and very good side - so credit to the team today.

Danny made some fantastic saves including the penalty and deserved his chance.

Also thought we started to flag in the last twenty minutes and allowed them space and time. Felt we began to run out of energy in midfield and this allowed them to press. I had a feeling Mario would be dropped for Mints - but would have liked to see him on the bench and this would have been a natural swap for Mints in the last twenty minutes. Sedgemore also seemed to tire. We do seem reluctant to make substitutions - and when we do they are sometimes a tad to late.

Disappointing crowd for a good six goal game.

Overall a good result against a top side. We do seem to raise our game against the better sides. Lets hope we maintain this against FGR.

Sorry to bring this old chestnut up again but did anybody honestly think there was only 480 in the crowd today?

Quite pleased with the formation today, especially with Duffy on the left.

What a great start by Danny. Apart from the goals going in, I don’t believe we had that many other chances so a day when things went for us.

They were big, strong and a very good side as A Non E Mouse has already mentioned. They seem a different player to ours, fitter and mostly faster. Even at 3-0, you could tell it was still within their grasp. We looked quite creaky when they attacked, but how could we have stopped them, 5 at the back!

I’ve never seen Kennedy looking so tired in the end.

My only qualm as in other games is that we always look like conceding far easier than the other team, but how can we stop that?

In all, definitely not 2 points lost but a point gained to a good outfit. Well done lads!

Woah! Woah! Boys we were treated to a very good game today, Canvey played some quality football against a class side that could win the league.

As I walked out after the game I heard people saying I would have accepted a draw this morning.

How far have we come to be dissapointed with a draw against a side like that?

We were by far the better team today, we ran out of energy, we are a part time side boxing above ourselves and we have class players.

When we got those goals did anyone really think a side like that were not going to respond?

I am proud of every player and our fans today the players gave 100% and so did the yellow army.

Some people say we should go fulltime,I want to see players like Johnny Keeling, JK, Wardy, Duffers, Boylan, Sterling et al. If it means I do not see them, you can shove your fulltime up your [****!!****], give me part time non league any day.

I had my heart in my mouth even when we were three nil up, that is why I love my team.

There is a new atmosphere at Canvey, Drums Flags and singing.

Teams do not like coming here and I am glad, lets enjoy the adventure and continue to learn.

Bring on FGR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

couldn,t agree more with all the posts on here, allthe changes asked for (previos post).danny had a great game and we looked better balanced today.ist half kept the ball on the ground and playrd really well ,deserved our 2 goal lead.but as soon as we scored the 3rd the game changed.we lost possession and impetus in midfieldand to a man went walkabout, whrn they scored their 1st you knew 2 and 3 would follow.why only 1 sub and no midfield change, all 4 were worn out,or could have put bunce on to help out the defence.

another poor att 480 (i don,t think so)

well done lads against the best side weve seen at the lane this season.

must fly

A good performance today, nice to see that we returned to doing what we do best, playing flowing football. Shame we couldn't secure the win, but in the grand scheme of things a draw isn't a bad result.

I agree with Yellow Angel that we should have used our subs, that would have put some fresh legs on and maybe tilted the game by to our advantage.

Outstanding players for me today were Sterling, Potter, Tait and Keeling, though everybody played very well!

I also thought that the Morecambe fans were a very friendly bunch, hope everyone had a safe trip home.

Bring on the Forest Green! Anyone debating whether to go or no, I would strongly urge that you do. It's a good journey, and a nice friendly place.

What we need is a midfield presence that can get those tackles in when they run at us. With thought, the defence can only keep so much out and look creaky if the ball keeps coming at them. Need a couple of Dom's in there in midfield to cut out the source.

Just a quick observation. Did Tait miskick his effort for the first goal? I honestly thought he had buggered it up and was surprised to see it go in.

Sedgy's goal was a touch of brilliance. He started the move and played a great one two with Lee and a great finish.

Great move for Lee's goal and a superb finish.

As for Danny, thought he had an excellent game. Not much chance for the three goals and the defence gave him very little protection. In fairness all three Morecambe goals were well worked. They kept possesion well and waited for an opening.

Defensively they looked awful but as an attacking force, Morecambe were excellent. Twiss and the 10 O'Connor were superb.

If you look at the gates against Scarborough, Southport and Alty where away support is more negligable you'd expect to have seen around 7-800 in attendance. That means 2-300 fans never bothered presumably because of our performances against Burnham - seems to have cost the club in more ways than one - can't even use Southend as an excuse.

Agree their number 3 (David Perkins?)worked solidly throughout the game and impressed me.
