It's been a long time since I had a look on here - better things to do with my life etc etc but: is it me or is the message board nothing more than a bickering shop?
Looking at the recent posts it does seem that the club is sinking deeper and deeper into the mire. Where is it going to end?
Realistically, how much longer is Lazarou going to carry on - surely he's losing money hand over fist?
I must be missing something because I cannot see for the life of me what he gets out of it. Does he think that there's some pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? If so what is that pot of gold?
Those with long memories may recall that about 18 months ago I tried to get answers from the club about a number of serious financial questions. I never did hear, despite suggestions made by Derek Bird that I would get a reply (it was advertised on the main site at the time that answers would be given if questions were raised). So I dare say that these questions will go unanswered too, though if anyone in the know is brave enough to post a reply I'd be most interested and grateful.

Perhaps, Mr Lazarou is using EFC as a tax loss.

The reason Laz is carring on is simply he is suing the council over the
sports link ,something he can not do unless he is the chairman, lets see what happens when he loses. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" />

you wont get answers from the club because the people running the club don't want anyone knowing what is going on so they can run the club in to the ground.

From what I hear, the council are likely to give in. A big shame and a kick in the teeth for justice if it does happen.

Whatever happened also to the FA Report into the dealings of our beloved Chairman? In Sunday's Non League Paper George Borg was quoted as saying that he paid £15,000 in a brown paper bag to somebody claiming to be an agent for Mark Bentley to secure his services for Aldershot from Enfield. NLP were unable to locate an agent with the given name. I suspect some could come up with some other ideas as to who the ultimate recipient of the cash was......

Okay his company is in the mire - SO [censored] WHAT!

This forum is meant to be about EFC football - and isn't ironic as soon as the team start to show some form up pops a few ETFC [****!!****] to try and bring us down.

Would that be because yet again, for the second season, the Essex Senior League looks like proving too difficult for them to win and gain that all important promotion?

It's so easy to criticise and demean - a lot harder to try and make something work. If you've got a problem with Laz, go to Laz, the remaining true EFC fans a tired of your petty sniping and pathetic comments. You've got your own board - stick to it.

Okay, so you're happy to see Laz fail. Unfortunately for me that would probably include EFC failing and I don't want this to happen. You see, there isn't a queue of people looking to buy the club off him and because of this it's better the devil you know than no one...and I bet this leads people into talking about the events of two years ago etc etc etc etc etc etc...At the end of the day we all know that Laz is a t**t - BUT, GET OVER IT!

And certainly when the team start playing/performing well can we have some positive feedback rather than just the same old [****!!****]. This club is more than Laz and we should remember that. Believe it or not some spirit and passion still exists at EFC and the team we have now is better than any we had under Tom.

Maybe you should have a quick look-in one day - the noise might have gone, but the football hasn't...

Come on the E's!

A couple of points:

1) Lazarou is the Chairman of EFC. All the aggro between the supporters would not have happened if it were not for his crooked dealings. As a result it is good to hear the the [****!!****] may be getting at least some of what he deserves.

2) Well done to the playing and coaching staff of EFC. On a limited budget the last week has seen things really turn around. Apart from the prospect of an Enfield derby in Ryman 1 next season and Lazarou losing more money I do not wish to see EFC relegatted.

3)Why do you have to get all abusive when someone puts a comment on this forum that you disagree with? It wasn't a snipe at the playing and coaching staff or fans.

4)What do you mean ETFC are finding the ESL too tough to win. We are top of the league. WE WILL WIN!

Robert G is spot on - smallest army, loudest noise comes to mind.

In 1996, Enfield were battling with Hayes for the League and had 1 game left. Hayes played their game in hand at Harrow in the final week and due to the importance, 20-30 Enfield fans turned up and congregated in a corner of the ground. We made more noise than the home fans and indeed, the large group of Hayes fans. There was bedlam when Harrow converted a 90th minute penalty to level the match and hand Enfield a lifeline. Unfortunately, there's a Yeovil-related ending so lets not go there, but its proof that the right mix of fans can spur the players on.

In the words of the song 'ah yes, I remember it well'.

I was one of the 20 or 30.

How can one man have caused so much havoc since then?
