Borehamwood 1-1 Enfield
The first chance of the game fell to nathan smith on 10 mins with a fine run but putting the ball wide of noel Imber's post. E's were holding their own but neither side were making much headway but on the half hour chris Bangura had a glorious chance for wood but sliced his effort wide. At the other end Danny clarke was body checked from behind by ryan moran but mr forrester said no penalty. Borehamwood then stepped up a gear and forced several corners and the Es defenders were living off their nerves somewhat. On 44mins woods leon Archer got the better of owen beale and his effort was blocked and partially cleared the ball fell to wood's Tommy williams 20 yards out and his shot beat lee robinson low down to his right to put the home side in front. In stoppage time a great save from robinson from archer kept e's in the game . The second half saw borehamwood having much the better of the opening exchanges with chris bangura going too close for comfort and a long range drive from lee harvey was very well saved by lee robinson. But on 59 mins a good through ball got Danny clarke away and lee harvey clattered danny down ,This time mr forrester gave the penalty. Up stepped Kevin kilroy who made no mistake with Imber diving the wrong way. soon after a sickening lunge from behind by chris bangura almost cut owen beale in half and he was very lucky to escape with just a booking. 75 mins gone and enfield looked to be the better side now and lee allinson got himself in a great position with just Imber to beat but squared to nathan smith who blazed his shot just over. Another good chance came enfields way as danny clarke got the better of lee harvey and a good save from Imber saved woods afternoon .lee Robinson then rushed from his area to clear a ball being chased by Archer as he cleared he looked to have took a knock and was treated for several minutes. Danger man Ian cooper then came on replacing darryl cox . He got chris Bangura away and he rolled his shot past the post. In stoppage time a nasty altercation between cooper and owen beale sparked a mass confrontation involving both dugouts and both players were booked for their trouble. Att 202

A very entertaining game , I thought we could have nicked it in the last 20 minutes. I expected us to get a good beating today . well done lads.

On a different day with the right players available Town could have beaten the wood too so I wasn't surprised to hear you gained at least a point. Helped yourselves and us as well. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

An interesting piece by Danny Hunter in yesterdays £2 overpriced programme, about the days of Laz and the mention of several ex board members. Nice to see the lovely mandy still pulling pints over there as well as admiring glances . An eastenders actress(stacey dont know her real name) was also watching . A good show from the Es and might have won but for noel Imbers two late saves from clarkey and lee allinson. Darren Rob and myself as ever reminded mr Imber of his classic penalty miss from about 3 years ago and the bent T V aerial on the house behind the goal is still leaning over as a reminder.

That'll strike a chord with the Towners. Bangura is a thoroughly nasty piece of work.

The guy should have been booked in the opening minutes with bad foul on the same player. If he had been like he should he would have been sent off.

Bangura's a bloody menace. He could have recieved 3 red cards when we played them,IF the ref had applied the laws of the game properly.

Firstly ,do you know how annoying it is to see a grown man writing posts, in the syle of a 14 year old chav texting his mates.

Secondly,if the ref would have applied the correct laws.Bangura committed three offences that warranted a red card.Obviously he should have walked for the first one.I think eveyone including yourself knew the point i was making.Stop being so pedantic
