Yellow Army

Well done to all who travelled to Forest Green, Jeff gave a special thanks to you all in his radio interview and you seem to have made an impression on the FGR fans.

"i think today's match was the quiettest this season at the lawn. not that im blaming anyone, because it is quite annoying that everytime someone starts to sing, they just get looked at as if they are from another planet.

the canvey supporters on the other hand never shut up, even when one nil down. they had 4 (or was it 5) drummers and a man with a trumpet who kept going all day. their 40 odd supporters put are 550 to shame."

I got the impression that Nailsworth and the surrounding area is not really a footballing area. Nailsworth has just one pub and we got some weird looks when 40 odd yellow clad supporters walked in.

At the game, FGR supporters made very little noise, a bit of polite applause but that was about it.

The area of Nailsworth itself is very pleasant. My girlfriend's family live 20 minutes up the road in Dursley, so I was looking forward to visiting Gloucestershire again.

The Magical Mystery Tour that was finding the pub after getting off the coach was great, at one point I could have sworn we were just walking up someone's driveway!

The pub itself was a bit posh for a rabble like us to show our face in, so it was outside that we made our own.

During the game the singing was fantastic, as the FGR fans quote states, we kept singing even when we were 1-0 down which is what we have got to keep up. The flags were great, and the seagulls being waved to the Damnbusters Theme was inspired Reiss!!

The coach home was one of the best I can remember, the singing lasted most of the journey home and the banter was fantastic. "David Powell My Lord" was my favourite, our tribute to the third Gallacher brother, Yellow!

Oysterfleet afterwards was great (mainly because Canveyboy didn't get us chucked out, though Brad and Tackle did their best!).

All in all, a brilliant day, 3 points in the bag, and the Yellow Army goes marching on!!

Well if Oasis need a drummer they know where to come.

Have you still got your pint glass from that pub, Glenn?

Can't remember where I left mine.

Rather weird place, Nailsworth. Can't believe it's the sort of town that boasts a Conference team. They all seem to be into drinking coffee and the only pub was more of a restaurant. Some very attractive women in there mind!!

Lastly a cup of Bovril at FGR cost £1.50!!!!!!
