Do you concede yet ?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone think their team has no chance of winning the title yet ?

Personally I think that Aldershot have blown it already and it ain't even Xmas yet. 4 defeats already this season is far to many for a side to win the title.

My money is now on 1 from K's, Boringricay, Purfleet and Hendon.

St Albans are my outsiders.

Great minds ? & what's the other side of the Fools seldom...

But you drew 1-1 at home to them, so how does that make your side contenders

Mind you Boringricay never look great, you just have a struggle to stay awake when they turn up.

Hmmm. Played most of the likely challengers (away to Ks, Stalebuns, Purfleet) and none of them have impressed in the way that Gravesend, Farnborough or Daggers did by this stage in the past 3 seasons. Could be that there are 4 or 5 good teams in the league where as before there were only 1 or 2 or it could be that none of the teams are actually as good as the 3 previous champions.

13crookes.co.uk has the odds as follows http://www.13crookes.co.uk/soccer/ryman.htm:

StAlbans 9/4

Aldershot 9/4

Billericay 11/4

Sutton 10/3

Kingstonian 4/1

Purfleet 11/2

C*nve*y 15/2

I'm still going to tip Aldershot on the basis that we've played everybody else and nobody's looked like champions yet.....

Having seen St. Albans twice this season I have to say they've no chance and were lucky to escape with a draw against us on saturday. Looks like a straight battle between us and and the Islanders! As for our Aldershot friends, well, they'll always shoot thier mouths off, promotion was a dead cert at the start of the season now they've conceeded before christmas. 'Boringricay'? Remind me, when was the last time you beat us?

Well Ricky can shut up now losing 1-0 at home to Enfeild.

Saints - possibly the best we have for weeks last night winning 2-0 in the Herts derby at Stortford, A Stafford Browne double which will no doubt sicken Shots, Canvey and Billericay.

Shots finally won at the bottom team.

As for K's - No team that has concided 4 goals to Maidenhead have ever won the leauge - check the record books (cue people actually doing that)

Before we get Sutton????? from Mr Sutton, I can't even remember your result so I obviously don't consider you challengers.

Hendon, Purfleet - If any of these teams won it'll be an embarrassment for the whole leauge.

As for them people saying they've seen us a couple of times in the last few weeks - I openly admit we have been playing crap lately, but we're still top. If you want to know how sizzling we were ask Harrow, Grays, Aylesbury teams that we ripped apart and dare I say it Canvey as well (the original sore losers were very complimentry)

We lost 3-2 to Hendon by the way, one of the better sides i have seen this season, if they win the league it'll be more of a credit to the league, since they are a hardworking team who will beat better sides than Sutton (so that's just the super k's (sic) then).

EBM or whatever your called (never seen your mega fantastic firm at Sutton) be careful though, despite going through a bad patch, and despite the fact we probably wont win the league (we never really thought so) we will be up there at the end.

Bill and Ricky - it would seem you are clutching at straws, by all accounts Saints could have got the three points but a draw was probably a fair result - if you are one of the stronger teams it would seem we have little to fear from your challenge.

Shots (love them or more likely hate them) will be up there as will the Dean Macey fan club from the Island.

Sutton, not sure, but I have always quite liked them so it would be good to have a team up there who don't bring on the red mist.

K's looked pretty strong.

All in all probably quite open, 1 from 4 or 5 maybe - dark horses Bedford (in your dreams)
