Congrats Billericay And A Warning

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to the Billericay supporters that often appear on these pages. Drawing at Aldershot is a magnificant result for you. On tuesday you play Gravesend at your place. A slight word of warning here. I watched 10 men Gravesend demolish St Albans City today (And they deserve credit for playing so well). The 'Fleet' were awsome and the performance was from several leagues above Isthmian. If you expect to win, simply you wont. If you expect to score, its very doubtful. You can expect a large amount of Kent supporters to make the trip. You will be out-numbered. So basically all that you can hope for is a 0-0. If you expect more, stay at home. You will not like what you witness. Sorry but why waste your pennies when you will be dissapointed.

Well it appears Carjam has thrown down the gauntlet!!
No bias reporting there then! By my reckoning "several leagues above Isthmian" would put G&N on par with the likes of say Man City -so by that reckoning no Billericay you don't stand a chance.
Course far be it for me to say but there is a faint chance that Carjam could be exaggerating!!! In which case Billericay you have as much chance as the next team!!
grin.gif" border="0

If I was not certain, I would not have posted. Ask the Aldershot fans about the performance at their ground a few weeks back. That's five away games and five wins. I suggest that perhaps you should boycott your own side on Tuesday and pay a visit to Billericay. Only then will you realise just how futile your own teams challenge is. Manchester City is about right. G & N would get the edge with the commitment factor. This is no wind up and I wont comment again unless asked. Its me sticking my neck on the line and make sure you all check the result. Anything from 0-0 up to 0-7.
Carjam

An amazing call by Carjam really, what happened to "its a funny old game"? Just when your sides got its act together they will then inevitably go have an off day. I'll stick my neck out and say G&N won't get a win at the Billericay.
Well done to all the clubs with a win, and that draw by the wannabes at Aldershot. Best result for me was the continued consolidation by the #1 mid Essex team - Braintree, sorry Gazza you made a rod for your own back, we're 4 points ahead of you and we've been so negative in scoring more goals than Billericay,as well as aggregating more for and against in our matches, we've yet to feature in a drawn game yet! With 26.2% of the seasons games concluded, my money still says IRON will bugbear you till seasons end. BTW do Billericay have a nickname? tongue.gif" border="0
[ 22 September 2001: This message was edited by: Iron knob ]

Can I suggest 'THE BRIDESMAIDS', but not at our wedding!!!
Looks like it could be a good game for the ricky on Tuesday night when Kent 'empties out' through the drainpipe.
Well done all you Essex boys today, shame to see Aldershot make Canvey's promotion even easier!!
The real BTFC....

Hm, don't know if you are serious or not, looks like you're a bit over the top if you ask me...
Of course I agree it's a good suggestion to take a trip to Billericay, put when you suggest a supporter of another team to boycott his own team, you're loosing it!
Just wonder if you are just as entusiastic when G&N starts to loose matches again...?
wink.gif" border="0

quote:
I suggest that perhaps you should boycott your own side on Tuesday and pay a visit to Billericay. Well carjam being Sunday I will try and refrain from the going down the route of blind faiths etc. - the only analogy I will draw is the sprint and marathons one and for the betting amongst us how many Grand National winners came from the horses leading at the first hurdle?? rolleyes.gif" border="0

I don’t mind eating humble pie, if I am wrong. Billericay, like Braintree and Grays are small clubs in the wrong league. The league has a funny way of sorting itself out and now is the time. Only Canvey and Aldershot can challenge Gravesend for the title this season. Canvey will fail because money does not buy commitment. Aldershot will fail as they are still trying to kick their way through the league. The supporters at Gravesend know something is happening, that’s why so many will travel on Tuesday night. Traveling is not a problem when you’re not loosing. So Canvey your time will come, Billericay your time is here. Stand by to learn a footballing lesson. Oh and thanks to all you guys from across the Thames for cutting out the abuse. It’s only a game. I might be wrong. Now lets just wait and watch it happen.

Hello one and all. I would just like to say I dont know who this carjam person is but he doesnt support the views of most Fleet fans. Yes we have been impressive recently and yes we are a good team who can challenge strongly this year, but 0-7? A travelling army of Kentishmen? Hardly....
Im hoping that this level of arrogance usually seen by followers of a certain hampshire side does not continue and give us a bad name

Carjam
you may be right about winning on Tuesday but your way, way off the mark when it comes to saying money can't buy commitment, if your trying to say that Canvey lack commitment I can only assume you are new to non league footy! god man where were you last season? not just Canvey but loads of clubs had to play games on top of each other! sheesh! Canvey in particular had a massive backlog of games and each and every player put in 110% each game, some even getting home late from games each day and getting up at the crack of dawn to go to work then getting to parklane for the next game and you say we lack commitment!!
Sorry to bleat on about this one but even after all that they go and win the FA trophy! now tell me if thats not commitment, if you do then your some sort of slave driver that would make the Taliban leaders look good!!
I'll even go as far as saying, (and believe me carjam this pains me to say it), I'd like to see Billercay win on Tuesday to bring you back down to earth!! there Ive said it!
wink.gif" border="0

All of you other Ryman teams are no good and should be playing in the feeder leagues to the Ryman. Canvey is going to whup your *rses, we are going to beat you all by at least 7-0, your players are not committed to the cause like ours, our supporters are going to descend onto your clubs because we feeeel the power, we know we are going whuppp your *arses. We are starting to starve our aligators and once again and teaching them the power of the yellow shirt and the Gulls are storing up their *rap to splatter any invading supporters from ..Gravesend.... ...ooo... ...ooo... ...ooo... (s)(o)(s)
Wow sorry guys and fellow sensible supporters, I have just been told that I was briefly infected with a new virus called ' Carjam', it gives an illusion of grandeur and upmost power over everyone around you, phew thankfully I am starting to feel normal again.
Tell me is he still around. frown.gif" border="0 frown.gif" border="0

Saw my first game in 1969 and have been a regular at Stonebridge Rd since 1986. I do know a fair bit about the non league scene. So in answer to the Canvey Island supporters I should remind them of Colne Dynamoes and St Leonards who briefly appeared on the scene with big money backers. Where are they now. It didnt do Hastings a lot of good either. Now I really am going to shut up on this one now. Just see if im right on Tuesday. Good luck to all your respective sides that night.

Carjam, there are two types of people who post on this message board.
(1) Those who like to wind it up a bit, who use humour and wit to make a (biased) point, who have their finger on the pulse and, although they don't like to compliment the opposition, make digs at the other clubs, and
(2) Total pillocks.
Shall we run a vote on that one?
Merv CIFC

OK then, here come the insults again and supprisingly from Canvey Southend Island Utd and not Biller-rickity.
You have to admit ive livend up the posts just a touch
And you have to admit..We are TOP Of The League..Youre Not
All the same if im winding people up fair enough, I will go away.
Have your vote. If two posts vote for 'pillock' im off. And I won't return. You can then all chat between yourselves about how fantastic your respective teams are. It's up to you.
Carjam

Carjam
please don't go! who else can we take the p**S out of that deserves it?
Na seriously though your comments are welcome as far as I'm concerned but you must understand that when you say things for eg "Canvey have no commitment and Billericky etc are not worthy opponants etc etc", thats bound to create a stir! and to be honest most people enjoy the stir up so you must not be childish and sulk as is your last comment and say your going to bugger off just because people are returning the compliments as it were!
Like I said that humble pie is cooking and if you do go who's going to eat it??
Stay and enjoy the banter, insults which ever it's all meant in good humour cool.gif" border="0
[ 23 September 2001: This message was edited by: canfan ]
[ 23 September 2001: This message was edited by: canfan ]
