Enfield still very much weakened by the absence of Keeper nick christofi , Kevin kilroy(suspended)Danny Clarke (knee) Tony Okolie(bereavement) Dave Greenwood(not match fit)Mark whittington (on the bench but not risked) Put up a spirited performance this afternoon In the opening half hour both sides were trying to get the upper hand with Rob munn tested in the Es goal on a few occaisions and one was very close for comfort. Paul Oshin and nathan smith had shots that went off target but on 37 mins a very deep cross found Darts Jimmy carter on his own to put his header past the stranded Rob munn . As the half closed another deep cross caught munn off his line and bounced off the top of E's crossbar. On 51 mins E's equalised with a good cross was just too high for Lee Allinson but Jamie Abbott retrieved the ball at the corner flag and floated in a cross for Paul Oshin to head home. Straight from the kick off Darts went ahead as E's got caught cold from the restart and steve Hafner rammed home at the far post following a cross from the left. Enfield Levelled again on 55 mins when a disputed free kick was awarded by mr atkin , and from jamie Abbotts cross Nick Turner Headed into the bottom corner. Lee Allinson broke clear but fired straight at Kevin Hudson. Paul Oshin then hooked his shot just wide .Dartford got ahead again on 71 mins when Carter again headed in from a deep cross . On 75 mins the same thing happenend yet again and carter completed his hat trick . Kilroy's absence in the defence was very obvious by now. Dartford had the job done and just shut up shop for the rest of the game. Att 263.
Always a nice place to visit at gravesend but very sad to see the large covered terrace at the northfleet end closed due to safety reasons. Gaping holes in the corrugated roof and crumbling terracing very evident. Had a nice chat with Darts chairman before the game and he was very excited at work getting underway at Darts new ground for the start of next season and he was very confident of Darts future.
Thanks to those who made the trip today and in particular Russ Barnett travelling all the way from Milton keynes by train.
