Can anyone confirm if the club were admitting "kids for a quid" for all league games this season?

I thought the club were offering it for the whole season (league games)- or have I got it completely [****!!****] about face? Anyone know.

The reason I ask is because I dragged my kids along to the Accrington game and paid the full kids price which was a bit of a shock.

No, they have done for a couple of selected gamesbut kids for a quid ended with promotion.

Shame really as they are putting off families and undermining future support.

I think that we really should start lobbying for this to be restored - perhaps just for season ticket holders or, introduce an adult mini-season ticket for 10 games or so that includes a kid for a quid option.

Cheers YB

I manage to drag one of my kids along ocassionally but did the "double" on Saturday and must admit it was a bit of a shock. Oh well my heart didn't stop pumping so it couldn't have been that bad - but I can see why some people get put off by it - especially if they are like my kids and generally all they want to do is bugger off and get a burger or go and talk to their mates.

I agree with any suggestion that offers fans a variety of "cost effective" schemes to get them into the ground and attract others. A scheme that may not appeal to some may, in effect, attract others if they feel they are getting value for money.

At the end of the day I know the money I part with at the club will be put to good use

Agreed, I'm not complaining about paying, but I do think that in the medium term there will be a gain by attracting fans through kids for a quid.

Okay, for each kid who would have come anyway we lose £4.50, but if we end up attracting more fathers wanting to do the bonding through football thing then that soon makes up the money. Also means we get our claws into the youngsters before they start wearing Man U shirts.

I hear that the club has been giving free tickets to some schools but alas not to my son's!

Agreed.

I don't bother with a season ticket because if I missed the odd game on a Saturday and can't make any midweek games then there is no saving or benefit - may as well pay at the gate which is what I do. However, a mini season ticket will pay for a fair number of the games I attend and I can pay at the turnstiles for the rest.

Benefit to the club is more money up front at the beginning of the season to buy players or spend on whatever. Adding other perks like kids for a quid on a mini season ticket is even more incentive.
