Well done EFC. I told you what sort of game it would be.

Enfield took another step towards safety with a hard earned 3-2 win this afternoon.
Potters bar were on the offensive straight away with the dangerous Richard Howard having a low shot straight at steve wright 6mins and it has to be said they did look very capable with wright again called into action with another save . Enfield finally got going and got some possession for a few moments and on 20mins took the lead through sherwin stanley whose run took him wide of fitkin and from an acute angle his attemped lob saw fitkin help the ball into the net (To be fair to him. the sun probably played a part) Back came potters Bar and an excellant save by wright denied howard .a crunching tackle on mark whittington saw a melee of pushing and shoving and Danny Talbot(I think shown yellow). ....In the second half a few raids from both sides came to nothing but on 65 mins a howler from mark whittington allowed him to be robbed of the ball and the resulting deep cross found Richard Howard to pick his spot 1-1.A mistake from fitkin saw his momemtum carry the ball outside of the area and a free kick was awarded BUT NO CARD ? It looked like potters bar had the edge at this point but on 76 mins and slightly against the run of play Enfield went ahead with a deep swirling cross from lee allinson eluded fitkin and Stuart milne and Danny Gabriel from an almost impossible angle headed home 2-1. And on 78 mins it was 3-1 with a moment of opportunism from owen beale cutting in from the right beating two defenders and a stinging shot beat fitkin low down to his left. Marlon Stewart was again causing problems and an unnoticed elbow on him stopped him in his tracks. Potters bar gave one last push and were rewarded from another deep cross from the right saw howard bag his second 87 mins and they almost levelled when a shot from 20 yards saw wright save well. 5 mins stoppage time with Es living on their nerves was finally bought to an end by mr kendall. ......Att 136

Good to see some people return today amazing what a couple of wins can do.

Thought your goalkeeper was excellent today. It would have undoubtedly been a different result without him.

I see no mention above of the penalty we should have had in the first half about five minutes before your first goal.

There was no card for our 'keeper because he didn't actually handle outside the box. The decision was given by the lino from an impossible angle to be able to see clearly. The referee gave the free kick in order to back up his lino but didn't show a card as he had sufficient doubt that any offence had been committed.

Bottom line today was that you wasted slightly fewer chances than we did. I've always said that the team that deserves to win is the team that scores the most goals, regardless of who has most possession, plays the better football, etc. so, on that basis, you deserved it. Well done.

By the way, if Enfield Horn is reading this, my prediction of 99 was closer to the official attendance of 136 than anyone elses. You can buy me a pint at Parkfield on 1st April when we meet again.

Sorry I missed the pen incident ,Its sometimes a problem as I do most of my reports from memory.
I had a chat with some of your players after the game as they were very down with themselves. I think potters Bar WILL stay up You are a very good side and victories over The Town and corby proves that your better than your league position suggests. Richard howard is class . Trust me you will stay up. I think aveley will drop and look at the way Ilford are falling away.

I think The Town & corby must have turned up to play potters bar with an easy 3 points attitude. They played us who are in the same boat and we were prepared to scrap for the points more. I know we won but the result could have easily gone the other way.

Less ye forget!

Syrup knows who I am and will point me out to you. Luckily for you, it will have to be a pint of something soft as I'm on antibiotics this week due to an absess.

You'll need a stronger drink than a pint after the game tomorrow.
Probably a Double Brandy to get you over the result.
Come on the Bar.
