I took a Charlton fan along last night to give him a taste of real football.

Just got back from Chelsea v Charlton after being in the Charlton end, they certainly gave Chelsea a lesson in effective counter attacking play. Saying that, failing to sell their allocation at Stamford Bridge was embarrasing.

Chelsea's prices are a disgrace. I have a mate who has followed Spurs all over the country for 30 odd years now and each season he refuses to go to Chelsea due to the way that they rip off the away fans at £45 to £50 per ticket and believe me, this guy as a computer programmer is not exactly short of a bob or two.

I was reading somewhere recently that since Hillsbrough and the Taylor report, apparently ticket prices for football have risen at over 200% more than the rate of inflation and that is quite a shocking statistic.

Fans do not have a bottomless pit full of money and with the cost of watching Premiership football now, perhaps the CAFC fans did not consider Chelsea's prices worthwhile for a game that most felt would be a foregone conclusion? Be that as it may, a great result for Charlton today and pretty hillarious to see Arsenal lose again yesterday too...

Just wondering if kingy was watching the same game following his report in the Echo

in regards to our fans view on this forum!!

The game against Gravesend sort of mirrored the performance, and result, that we showed against Salisbury. After that game Jeff felt we lowered ourself down to the Southern League sides ability (harsh on Salisbury me thinks). I think the lads did put in some effort but we just looked completely at odds, lacked any real final third ideas and made it difficult for ourselves to compete.

If that was us showing effort then I'm mightily worried!!!
