haven't seen the comments in the Echo so may have the wrong end of the stick here, but even if the official website kept us informed about players' whereabouts/injuries/shoe sizes this website would still be used to discuss players - along with things like opponents, crowds (or lack of them). It's a discussion board after all ! I know nothing about what it is like to be a player at any level, I have no idea how to coach or manage players, so I am reduced to supporting my home town club (albeit from afar). If anybody pays any attention to people's thoughts on here then they should realise we may not know what we are talking about, it's just part of the game in the Internet age.

http://www.bbc.co.uk...o_archive.shtml - Second interview from the top.

Understandable now, why Jonny Keeling started on the bench, but had Jeff not mentioned it in the interview how would we be any wiser?

Agree with your points and haven't seen the comments in the Echo - I find it a tad worrying TBH. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I don't claim to know bugger all about football, tactics, running a club or marketting etc. but put my opinions or thoughts down on this forum as an outlet - hopefully positive and productive but I suppose it depends upon your views and opinions and I'll read them with interest - whatever they say.

I can't believe Jeff would take anything to serious from this forum anyway when commenting on players and tactics. He's the man - and it's his tactics and decisions that have got us here. Perhaps he needs to see the comments on the Shots forum about us being the worst team they have played so far this season - the only debate was were we worse than 10 man Southport!

I also agree that if information was provided more openly then a lot of speculation on this forum would cease. The website today says we are still struggling with injuries but doesn't say who or what - I ain't got a clue where Bimsons gone or what his injury is.

I admit that occasionally I do put down details on what I thought our formation and tactics were - but presumed this helped others get a feel for the game - particularly those that can't get to the ground or it is an away game. My observations may be right but are more than likely not as I'm not privy to other bits of information.

Fans on other team forums voice their opinions on players, tactics and club affairs - but I don't recall their managers or directors making comments in their local press about fans thoughts on a forum - seems like a bit of overkill really.

It smacks a tad of big brother and censorship.

Moan over - I'll get me coat..............

don't think jeff likes any canvey websites even the official one, hence lack of any information about injuries, selection, thoughts on players etc.

all football supporters speculate about their team
its part & parcel of the game.
when i ask what has happened to a player its because someone else may be able to tell me.
its natural curiosity,is he out injured or has he been dropped for tactical reasons.
its not an attack on Jeff,i fully appreciate where this club would be without him.
mind you,i think from his comments in the Echo that he is a bit pissed off about the lack of support for the club from the locals.
which takes us back to -Marketing,prices etc.
