What is going on with Barnet?

The Council have denied them permission to carry out safety repairs on their South Stand.

The home fans have now been switched from the East Stand to the South stand to meet conjuctions that have to cater for away fans.

At first it was thought the stand would have to be closed entirely which would've reduced to ground's capacity to (apparently) just 2800 - This isn't enough for Conference criteria I believe. There League 2 match with Shrewsbury tomorrow was nearly called off as a result.

They seem to have had problems with their local council for a few years now, i believe they turned down the latest site they were offered and it looks like that may have upset the council.

If they don`t move soon they are going to have to spend a lot of money on Underhill, they have to level the slope on the pitch which on it`s own will be a lot of work.

I went up to Old Trafford with Barnet. They seemed to believe that the council aren't too bothered about having a local team, and would actually prefer it. A shame really, but it looks like their heading down a dead end road.

They've been battling with the council for years over this. Got a feeling Enfield had the same problem as well.

Their game was put back an hour and half yesterday due to power failure and Tresor Kandol scored on his debut.

Gavin Cowan was on the bench for Shrewsbury but did not come on.
