Our Lads in Iraq.

Read the full story, they were bombed by mortars, hand grenades and fired at by guns. They responded with Batons.

But to be honest if the situation was just stones I would still think the soldiers were justified.

I think your on a wind up ?

There is no justification to beat up someone if non-violent methods can be used. In this case non-violent methods could have been used!

We did not send a peace keeping (trained) army we (illegally) invaded using an invasion army with solders trained to kill, Bliar knew this from day one which appears to have been at least 12 months before the "invasion"
Read your papers every day and read about the deaths day by day of innocents and solders from sneak attacks via hidden bombs, grenades and snipers etc
I suggest you get real this is not a "come dancing" series but real life with real life lost, arms and legs blown away and all the trauma that accompanies such actions

Offering the sit-on-the-fence attitude of a true wishy-washy liberal, the trouble with this issue is everyone's too entrenched in their own viewpoint to accept that (a) the soldiers might have been a bit heavy-handed in this particular situation and (B) that, yes, it's a high-pressure situation and if some little gits are throwing rocks and whatever else at you, you'll likely have a pop back.

The truth probably isn't as black and white as the soldiers mercilessly beat the crap out of them / soldiers have every right to hit rioters with batons and kick them in the head.... but somewhere in between.

I was thinking that next time our troops come under attack, they should counter with a colouring book and a game of Scrabble

Probably be just as ineffective as our 'new' rifles; Sand Boots that are useless and body armour that can hardly stop a pea from a pea-shooter !

That's cost-cutting for yer.
