You scuttled out of Clarence Park 4 years ago, with the red tractor and its accessories on a trailer rattling behind you, leaving a string of unpaid bills including unpaid wages to be dealt with by someone else, and the club suspended from the League and not having played for 6 weeks, as you were unable to give the Management Committee of the Ryman League satisfactory assurances concerning the club's ability to complete its fixtures. Clearly, every Official throughout the Ryman League knew the truth about you.

 

You have re-surfaced at Braintree Town. And you continue to play your stupid games on these message boards and on other forums. We at St Albans City FC saw you at first hand for too long, and the people of North Essex have no idea. They will learn, as we did. Your puerile efforts to distort the facts of history cut no ice here.

 

Your games on here are one thing. Apart from further making you a laughing stock, they are of no real consequence.

 

However, the proposed residential redevelopment at Cressing Road is something that the fans of The Iron should be paying more attention to.

 

It doesn't take a genius to have a rough stab at the excess of expenditure over income at Braintree Town and, from first-hand experience, we at St Albans City know exactly what happens when you get yourself into that situation, don't we?

 

"great progress on and off the field". "very good relationship with members of all Leagues". "chance of a play-off place". "many years to come". Spare me, per-lease. You forget too easily that I've heard it all before.

 

As I recall, your rhetoric reached a deafening crescendo in the press and anywhere else you could find someone to listen in the months before the faeces hit the punkah and a winding-up order was sought by the creditors at St Albans City FC.

Oh dear Peter, more of the same from all those years ago.

 

You and I both know that everything I took with me belonged to me, while much else of mine was left behind. If anything that was taken did not belong to me I would imagine that action would have been taken by the Club, it has not.

 

I realise you had ambition to be chairman Peter, but you did not have any real support - too many people wanted me to stop you, even though I would have been happy to work with you. You backed the wrong horse mate.

 

But, for me, that’s all in the past and, despite your on-going rhetoric, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Clarence Park, made loads of friends and have many happy memories. I was pleased to hear that the ground, with minor works, is eligible for Conference National.

 

As to Braintree, I welcome any comments or questions that our supporters may have. Your slurs against the management of my Club are not just against me, which is water off a ducks back, but against everyone else involved in the running of our Club.

 

Many of my colleagues at Braintree have seen your comments and are insulted and offended by them, despite my attempts to explain that your comments are aimed primarily at me.

 

If they trusted your judgement I would imagine that I would not be welcome at Cressing Road. It would seem, they do not. They appear to be judging me (if at all) on what I do rather that what others say I will do.

 

I’m sure these exchanges will go on between us ad infinitum - if nothing else it helps keep me on my toes and keeps me focused.

 

I am flattered that you still think of me after all these years apart. My only regret is that you have become abusive which I think is beneath you.
