Saturday v Crawley

Going to be close.

I think it's going to be one of those games where it's kick, bolock and bite.

I have a bad feeling Crawley will see this as a winnable game and try and put us off our normal game - If the lads end up under pressure I hope we don't start belting it in the air. We need to do what we do best (although thats a contradiction when your 17th in the table )

1-0 to the Gulls. Attendance 860. Rainy and bloody cold.

I think Crawley will bring quite a number of supporters, they appear to be having an end of season grasp at getting somewhere. Their forum has a lot of complaints about events over the past year, so they are obviously not happy bunnies.

We need the big drums today of all days.

Canvey for ever.

Somebody said earlier that they didn't care what sort of game it was today, as long as we got a result. Well, we certainly got the result and the game was watchable, without ever being top quality. I suppose 'workmanlike' sums it up nicely and I, for one, would be quite happy to see another half dozen workmanlike wins between now and the end of the season.

Good choice to make Wardy MOTM. You know what I think about Wardy; he can be Man of the Season, Man of the Decade and even Canvey's All Time No. 1. 400 peprformances and only two of them poor (and even those two weren't that bad).

I must have an excellent optician. I seem to be the only one who can see that Dwain Clarke is hopeless when he is playing wide. In the middle I believe he has a lot of creativity to offer, but wide??? Jeff, try Castle Opticians in Long Road. Ask for their Conference Bi-Focals.

Merv's Special Award goes to Chris Duffy. Solid and hardworking - in spite of a continuing injury.

Let's hope this is the beginning of a run of good results. We deserve a break.

Cannot for the life of me understand how Dwain Clarke can ever be preferred to Jon Keeling playing out wide?

Thought that Clarke was poor today but it was a good win and just the result we needed.

Interesting that Ben Chenery was captain today instead of Jeff Minton, who started in place of Mario.

I must be watching the same game as everyone for a change, how does Clarke get a game???

If anyone who comes on here ever bumps into Jeff please ask him why, why.

I am one of those peole who believe anyone who puts on a Yellow shirt is a hero, but I am sorry he is rubbish, he is big fast and a very good player.

Yet he rarely wins a header, wins even fewer tackles and only one cross in ten is going to get past the first defender.

He seems to suck the enthusiasm out of the rest of the team.
