Saturday v Crawley

Batty

Recommended Posts

The weather was never going to allow either team to play decent football but we wanted it more and earned 3 very important points.

Very fitting that in his 400th appearance Wardy should give another quality performance and earn motm

We are not out of the dogfight yet but todays results gives us a bit more breathing space.

Weather was always going to kill the game as a spectacle.

We desperately needed the 3 points and we got them - job done.

Couldn't understand why we made wholesale changes to the side again, especially Keeling, and with the exception of McGhee who was injured at Boro.

With regards to Clarke - in the spirit of this forum I'm not going to be negative - I'll just say there has got to be better players out there who would improve our squad.

It's not over yet but we need to keep plugging away - Scarborough and Alty are just as critical as todays game and we must look at taking points from these games - if we don't we'll be back in deep doggy do do.

Not pretty at all today but we fought for it and wanted it more. Dom and Wardy were outstanding and didn't miss a thing in the air. Thought Crawley were really dissapointing and never really looked like scoring.

God my head hurts!!

Delighted with the win yesterday. I thought the defence as a whole were magnificent, keeping a striker of Daryll Clare's quality fairly quiet for 90 minutes is no mean feat.I also thought Danny made a couple of great saves, the battle for the number 1 shirt continues.

The game itself was no classic, the importance of the fixture and the conditions saw to that, and we were unable to play our usual Brazil-like football! However, when I talk about the game tomorrow at work it will have been an epic, as we got the three points and that's all that matters!

A good effort from the Yellow Army, a shame a few of the old guard seem to have given up a bit. Well done to the youngsters who have joined us recently, they've really got stuck in and have contributed massively towards the fantastic noise coming from the shed in the last couple of home games.

The only downside was that I didn't stay to enjoy the celebrations, we left straight away to see the Williams v Skelton fight in London!

Some good celebrations done the club last night. Was still pretty busy after I left just after 8pm.

From the Crawley forum

Their left winger was a lot better than Scully, always taking Judge on to try and hit the line. Dwain Clarke, they got him on a free from Lewes via Aldershot. We should try harder looking for local talent than picking up overpaid players than no-one else wants.

Not the prettiest of games but my god thats a massive 3 points. Cant thought any of the players as everyone worked hard although do agree about Clark not having a brill game, keeling was on the bech due to a back problem which is why Clark replaced him. Our performance was very much like the hereford game the week before. If the lads keep working hard we will soon get enough points to be safe.

Me and the Linster left the clubhouse about 9:30 and were still a handfull of people continueing the celebrations when we left. Quality day allround. Dave i didnt see your pics of the southport game, next thursday bring them.

Well done lads keep it up.

Yeah, totally forgot to bring the photos with me yesterday. Will bring them down on Thursday to show you. I'll be bringing my camera to Scarborough to record the day.

All done. You will find the photos here

Note I've put 2005 instead of 2006 on the photos. My apologies but don't know how to change it.

Enjoy.
