Enfield 3-0 Barton Rovers.
Team 1 steve wright, 2 mark whittington,3 warren Leader, 4 Nick Turner ,5 kevin kilroy,6 curtis Johnson ,7 Leon Green,8 Paul Oshin,9 Marlon Stuart ,10 Danny Gabriel,11 sherwin stanley, subs 12 Lee Allinson, 14 Gbenga Sonuga,15 Grant osborn,16 sam Judge, 17 Duane uylett, Wes Borghys still suffering from a sprained ankle and Michael spencer still has Flu.
The first chances on 8 mins for barton saw paul whyte shoot wide as did Gordon guile a couple of moments later .then 10 mins in Danny Gabriel was put through only for him to be pulled back but no foul was given.Marlon stuart was then set away but was robbed of the ball as he homed in on goal. At the other end a clearence by warren Leader almost took off Ricky Case's head.(Accidental) On 22 mins the first goal of the game Curtis Johnson's deep cross to the back post was headed across the face of Keeper Gregory's goal by marlon stuart and Danny Gabriel was there to put E's ahead. Another good move by Johnson put gabriel in but a good save point blank by gregory. Barton came back into it and warren leader was forced to head just past his own post. Then a good cross from paul Oshin and Danny Gabriel headed wide. A clumbsy looking foul on leon green by bartonsTawhid Juneja saw him harshly booked and a few moments later Juneja was then sent off for upending Danny Gabriel on 41 mins .Barton Goalkeeper Gregory was subbed due to pulled hamstring , Barton almost levelled when a deep cross was fumbled by steve wright and Mark potter somehow managed to head over the bar(A let off for E's) A shot from gordon guile was then off target and then a goaline clearence by mark whittington Denied paul Gray from a free kick which found its way through to him.. In the second half a free kick got through to Gordon Guile but his shot was deflected wide. Then on 51 mins an amazing moment of indiscision between Steve Graham and Neil morgan allowed paul Oshin to steal the ball and slot home from 20 yards from a tight angle 2-0 .A shot by Ricky case for barton well off target. Then Danny gabriel was chopped down inside the box as he was about to shoot NO PEN said mr O'sullivan . At the other end on 60 mins another miss by Guile (not a good day for him) Lee Allinson replaced Paul Oshin and he then sent Marlon stuart away with an inch perfect long ball and marlon lobbed the advancing steve graham to put E's 3-0 up on 70 mins. Allinson was then taken down by potter and was booked .On 73 mins a shot by Allinson was saved by Graham. Osborn and sonuga then replaced whittington and gabriel. A great run by sherwin stanley and a great cross but grant osborn just couldn't connect at the far post. On 83 mins lee Allinsons free kick was headed just over by kevin kilroy. A good stop by wright denies ricky case at the other end. In the dying seconds curtis Johnson almost rounded it off with a superb run but he failed to connect any sort of weight on his shot and was cleared off the line by potter. So a fine win today our first league double of the season. Att 101
