Windsor 1-0 Billericay

Recommended Posts

Bit of a pony evening all round really... Heavy rain before the game saw the pitch turn into a regular quag in places, Windsor coped with it better than we did and deserved their win. Typical goal for the circumstances - attempted back pass from Macca held up in the mud, Ricky's clearance was charged down allowing their guy an easy finish.

We were our own worst enemies really, kept trying to play one touch passing in our own half and then looking surprised when moves broke down. Threatened a bit more second half, Flack had a decent chance but wasn't our day. Ref had a mare - twice gave us corners when the last touch was clearly ours, and failed to penalise the 5 when he hauled Nathan back by the collar of his shirt.

The conditions were not helpful but we did miss Warren last night, Leon can only do a certain amount of the work in midfield. Credit to Nathan who tried to create something for himself all night, but you just felt it wasnt going to be our night and was not helped further by a very poor ref. Last nights performance shows how far we have to go and the performance against Fisher a few weeks ago shows what we can do. We just need to find a consistancy.

What a shocker. We've thrown away all that hard work and effort of the last 10 weeks or so in 90 lacklustre minutes. IF we had won tonight then just 4 points would've seperated us from a play-off spot. I'm convinced that only a Billericay side can go to the leagues top scoring side and keep a clean sheet, then days later can go to the one of the leagues leakiest defences and fail to score! It's madness. As for the play-offs, I wouldn't give up, win the next two games and there still might be a sniff of a chance going into the Wimbledon game.

Keep the belief lads, I'm still hopeful of a Braintree slip up, however unlikely as I want us to avoid the playoff's like the plague.

Easy for me to say I know but when your stuck in second for most of the season and never being out of the top four you begin to have doubts we'll be mugged in the playoff's. The team finishing fifth will have the momentum and be happy to be there so will perhaps play a little more free.

As you all know we can be beaten at home by well organised teams. So I pray we avoid the Wombles and hope they push on to 3rd/4th and hopefully Heybridge can do the hard work for us at Scraley Road.

Your chances of making 5th were always slim, especially with Worthing, Staines and AFC pushing on. They had points in the bag unlike the Ricay so your pre christmas form was your undoing, not W & E.

How was Ralph, I got his autograph!

shocked by last nights result after your recent form.

My weather foreacast tells me this bank is the best for getting "a bite" today.

so you have blamed the weather, the ref and the pitch <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Personally feel you need to win every game now and thats always the time the pressure tells most on a club.

I think we're all a bit sombre to bite today Sean! No blame attached anywhere, Windsor deserved thier 3 points. Mind you, I've just cheered myself up thinking about our forthcoming league fixture with AFC Wimbledon and a certain league cup final date. By the way, congratulations on your teams result last night.

Well every games a must win and you will have a good day when AFC play you. Hopefully they will bring a few more than ther 400 ish earlier in the season.

They are starting to motor now and they should bring more, maybe a 1,500 crowd?

If we win our games at Leyton and Wealdstone, I'd expect a 2,000+ crowd. AFC to bring 600/700
