I was going to get a load of horns to sell in the shop, wouldn't want to upset the neighbours though. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

Nothing wrong with selling them Arky. Nothing wrong with bringing them either. Just as long as you don't blow them.............

Tell you what, how about a compromise. All the EFC lads and lasses just shout "parp parp" instead. Or is it more of a "ga-oooga"?

How about a compromise.

Blow the horn three times.Once as the players come out onto the pitch.Once in the first half and once in the second half. You will get a big cheer of us Town fans when you do it.

The combined duration of the noise will be no longer than about 6 seconds, surely the residents can't complain about that?

If you think that things like that dont get taken into consideration when planning permission is applied for then you lead a very sheltered life.

This is the last home game of the season (I hope) and not one other team has turned up with air horns so why do you think that only this bunch feel that they must turn up with them, is it to make up for lack of numbers?

If the Enfield FC directors contact the Gazette and apologise in advance for the air horn from Enfield FC fans then the objectionable neighbours can focus their objections in writing to the Council and Gazette about EFC and it is no going to effect Enfield Town FC's stadium aspirations within the borough!
I always thought you were the only cliquey townie who types an absolute load of old b******s , but I have just added Brunob , stone cold to the list. Squadron leader I'll let you off this time but I have marked your card. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

As far as i was aware, nearly every resident at the time complained about the planning permission to improve the ground in the first place, and even set up a campaign (before we had the chance to annoy them by being noisy). It comes with the territory.Nearly every planning application anywhere in Britain since the dawn of time, has been objected too by local residents.Planning committees take a pragmatic view of local objections, otherwise nothing would ever be built.I can see no reasonable objection to extending the length of our mainstand slightly next season.Noise by supporters during the 90 minute duration of games, certainly wouldn't be entertained by a sensible planning committee.

Accept the fact that local residents will object to any future plans, whether we remain silent during games or not. Some letter writing on our part (and common sense) should win the day, just as it did with the original plans.

Let's respect local residents , because they deserve concideration and courtacy. But lets not pander and grovel to them in the belief that it will improve (or affect) our chances of future planning applications, because it won't make any difference at all.

If Air horns dont make enough noise to make a difference then why do you want to use them?

They have been used all season at all EFC matches even at grounds with houses near by . I put it to you Mr Brunob that your scared stiff that someone will make more noise than your most over rated selves for once.

Exactly what I said. It was, and approval was obtained.

Any application that we may or may not make in future should probably be discussed on our our forum (well, the forum that isn't ours...) rather than on here, I would have thought. But LS got it about right, there is a culture of objection in this country, any application receives objections, most of them irrelevant to the issues and based on a total misunderstanding of the process.

To be fair,Letyon Fc could have said the same thing. 'Why do you want to stand behind the goal, if it makes no difference '?

We were angry because they stopped us doing what we normally do at games..Ie.. standing where we prefure to satnd.By banning horns we are stopping EFC fans from doing what they normally do at games.Of course they are going to be miffed. Also to be fair, they don't give a monekeys about any of out future planning applications (why should they).

Maybe a leaflet drop to local residents, informing them of a that a local derby (big game) was due Saturday, and more noise than normal may occur, and apologise in advance for any inconvenience. This would have been a courtious gesture, and covered the club against any post-complaint of noise.I understand why ETFC have asked away supporters to not make noise with airhorns, but i also understand why EFC supporters see it as an infringemnet.

For what it's worth I just hate airhorns. The Es just use them to make up for the fact that they havent got enough supporters to make a noise without them!!!!!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/devil.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/flame.gif" alt="" />

You must be wearing them blinkers too much HM , how many away fans usually go to brimmo then ? I'll say probably Dartford, sittigbourne and the stiffs are the only clubs that have significant numbers of away support. We have been to several grounds where we have made up the gates to over the 100 mark ,Ilford ,Barton, uxbridge, corby, to name a few .

OK, I might buy the evening games = no air horns, trumpets etc (only just mind), but come on 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, behave.
If people really are complaining not only are they extremley sad with obviously very little in their lives to do but what I would like to know is how they cope with a fuction in the Downs bar at 11pm on a Saturday night & all the local pi$$ heads turning out!
What a load of bo**ocks, and a perfect example of what is wrong with society today!

You obviously do not understand the legality of ETFC staging a Game at Brimmo do you Gazza?

<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" />

No SL cant say I do and have never claimed too, my point is I & 99% of others cant believe the pettyness of it all, I would be astounded if ETFC have agreed to adhere to some form of legal term like:

"no air horns to be sounded during a match"

If we have then as the invisible man says what next rubber soled shoes?, no singing?, no clapping?

Would not want Dave's job as he must be the most patient guy in the borough, if thats what he has to put up with, its ridiculous.

Who do these people think they are dictating to others, how, no why do we let them get away with it?
We are talking of 21 x 90 mins & any cup games if drawn at home, how pathetic!

Gazza I will try & explain to you why the Posting was put on, our Ground Rules state "Anything which would couse CONFUSION on the pitch." ie Whistles etc. The thing about Horns was said so as not to upset the residents, not because we are a load of killjoys. If people wanna bring em in, then so be it. Personally I don't give a monkeys as I dare say I won't see much of the game if any,as I'll be too buzy elsewhere.

As I said previously I just want it to be a Great day out for everyone. EFC should thank us really first league game in the borough for 7 years ain't it?

BRING IT ON!!!!!!!
