It also marked the start of a new era, where we the fans can take this club by the scruff of the neck and put the community values back into it which have been missing for so, so long.

All the ideas that have come up on this forum that have fallen upon deaf ears can now be put into action as there is nothing stopping us.

I may be being a bit sadistic here, but I'm actually quite excited about that. Football is universal and will live forever. This was gonna happen sooner or later, because lets face it, no human being is immortal.

But now is our chance to really make our Club into what we want it to be. The Supporters Trust is being setup and people need to be elected for membership. Depending on which League we will be playing in next season, we can spend all Summer promoting and campaigning for support for the new season.

A new Manager has to be installed, (I'm still hoping it'll be Pennyfather) and our squad built accordingly. It seems now that our young, hot reserve players may well have found their time to shine. If we start next year in the Conference, yeah we'll probably be rock bottom for the majority of the season - but it'll still be fun! And with that fun comes to hard work of Managing a football club. If we start in the ESL, the only way is up!

Canvey heros and legends will be sold/released - We thank them immensly for where they've brought the Club during their spells at Park Lane and they won't be forgotten. I'm sure they will understand the circumstances, yet they will be replaced with the best that we can afford.

The majority of the next season will most probably have to be done voluntarily off our own backs. I'm up for doing what I can for my part in CIFC's future this Summer and so should everyone else on here!

I think it may be Calor - wasn't it going to turn Canvey into the third biggest storer and supplier of gas in the UK?

I'm not 100% certain but aren't Concord Rangers still denied promotion from the ESL on Health & Safety grounds because their ground is too close to the methane terminal?

Perhaps we should invite them to ground share with us! Some extra income through the Clubhouse/Burger/Tea bars wouldn't go a miss.

so are we playing in the esl next season? who is gonna be manager? will most of our players go?

Well if it is the worse or worse situations and you declare bankruptsy and start up as a new team, you will be in the esl and most of your player will leave cos they won't be paid the wages basically. But the fight sure isn't over yet as someone said above, you can't give it up, you've gotta try to play at the highest level of football posible, just stick together.

Who's going to fund us? How many other millionaires are there on Canvey?

so we give up without trying, the aim of the club should be to play at the highest possible level, and until all avenues are worn out we should try to stay a conference team. no there aren’t many millionaires on Canvey but there are others in other places, there are lots of companies on the island.

how much does it cost to keep the club going for another season. we need to find out this information and then go about funding it. for years we have relied on the Kings money, now it isn’t there so we go and find it somewhere else.

with the right marketing and ideas the club can make money and with the possibilities of making money comes backers.

Of course we don't give up. I was just being unhelpful.

I suppose until there is an official comment about Jeff's resignation and the state of the Trust we just keep bouncing ideas off of each other and see in what way they can be implemented until we find out who is actually doing what once Jeff leaves.

i go air cadets and it is the biggest youth organization in the world. i am going to try and get a message out to the 35 local squadrons in essex and see if the essex wing can sponsor canvey and try to do a partnership. that might get some more money.

That's exactly what we need. Cadets, Guides, Brownies, Scouts, Cubs etc.

I've lost count of how many schools there are on the island, but if we move quickly I'm positive something could be arranged before they break up for the Summer for them to have a purpose to visit Park Lane, even if it's just for the friendlies and whilst they're there we do everything we can to try and pursuade to them keep coming back.

This would work better if we definately knew which league we will be playing in next season, but for now I suggest we just plan accordingly for either.

Sounds crazy - but if the worst happens and we start back in the ESl - then merging may be a question worth raising. Concorde do have a good youth policy and system and "one club on Canvey" may put it in a very healthy light - it would certainly increase "the clubs" awareness in the community and would increase local interest.

On a slightly different note what is happening to the other "board memebers" of CIFC - have they resigned also? I presume it will be these people who take up the gauntlet or have they lost interest now Jeff has gone? What about our local MP - stuff local issues and start helping the club
