Questions to be asked at meeting

Good point, Ken. Important to consider how we can do it in the future, but let's not get sidetracked into who is to blame at the moment. We'll have plenty of time for that later and any antagonism is only going to inflame a potentially volatile situation.

Lets get back onto deciding how we can be organised.

I've just read all those articles in the Echo and I've found it really sobering. If three thousand people on Canvey read that, I'd like to think they'd all turn up on Friday. Just once it'd be nice to know that they could be affected by something in the Echo and moreso show that they care about Canvey Island Football Club... show that they care about our football club and that they want it to carry on exisiting.

None of my buisness fellas just a suggestion for the future if things dont go well for you on thursday. As Canvey Island is so small is it not possible to look at merging with Concord Rangers and only having 1 team on the island.I believe that Concords youth structure is far superior to yours and even though they are only ESL they are a very well run football club and maybe working together could bring big dividends in the future for both clubs.Good luck fellas

The main points for me were

Jeff`s dissapointed with the people of Canvey and Castle Point and feels the council has not helped the club enough

It was a very sad day for him but the club could not continue to be funded as it was

He believes the loyal fans of CIFC can work something out and he will help where he can

Ditto Chris Gardner

Chris Gardner hoped that the people of Canvey would have a change of heart and turn this club around

3 players are on contract for next season

The Echo said Jeff had been approached by another non-league club but no decision had been made as yet, there was no quote from Jeff about this.

Steve Ward said he was shocked but not totally suprised.

Ditto Steve Tilson.

There was more but i think they are the key points

well the elections are coming up soon, so i would of thought if the council wants us on their side supporting them, then they better find some cash and save the national club, otherwise i will vote them out! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

I was watching the situation with Barnet on Sky Sports News and the club has told all there fans that they need a change in borough leadership. So all 6,000 fans are forcing a change in constituency by voting against the current council in the next election. Because of there huge fan base, the result is definately going to take them out of power and the opposition will use this subject in their manifesto to gain votes for their side.

Now why dont we take the same stance and rally around loads of support to force our current council out of power and then maybe another party can follow what Barnet council's opposition are doing and we will all vote for them. Sometimes you wonder if things like this will happen and if change can be carried out in government, but maybe this is one of those examples where it can?
