Summary of tonight's meeting

Recommended Posts

Good luck to you Islanders from me at The Mighty Saints.

Some of you will see these as very dark days, but I am sure that, pulling together, and with a lot of effort, you can come through them. The circumstances will be very different, of course, and shouldn't be directly compared to yours, but we have had our problems in the past as have the fans at, say, Hornchurch, and both clubs have come through them.

Keep the faith! Best wishes, once again.

I spoke to the guy, Kevin Rye and told him about me wanting to help but being situated in Sheffield at the moment. We chatted and he said that talking to Sheffield United and especially Wednesday who have been involved with the Supporters Trust could work and i could talk to them about possible sponsorship or donations. Also, i work in the biggest bar in Sheffield and could ask the boss if he would be interested in any kind of sponsorship. One of my frieds is the head of the sports commitee at mu university and he could be persuaded to include us into some of their fund raisers. No one had ever heard of Canvey when i moved there, but now all my mates are always saying to me that they look out for their results now so maybe i can turn this into some kind of involvement for them.

I dont knowbut if i will get anywhere, its worth a try though.

I was thinking the same thing too.

There are some non-league fans at my Uni - Exeter, York, Gravesend that will possibly know of our current situation and it wasn't that long ago that Wycombe were in the Conference themselves.

Wayne can't update the Official site properly at the moment due to an injury he picked up during the Charity match on Sunday. If you'd seen him last night he was wearing a support.

Good luck with it all guys... we're currently going through almost exactly the same thing here at Hendon right now (no funding for next season, but with the additional problem of our ground being sold from under us!) - our Trust is formed, and we're now looking to sort out next season without relying on our parent company's funding. Still lots to do though!

If anyone on your working group wants to chat about ideas or anything, then feel free to get in touch with me - par2 (at) aber.ac.uk - and I'm more than happy to help. In fact, if anyone else has some questions about the whole trust thing, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them. Will try and remember to return later today to check up <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hope you get it sorted out. Hendon are a big club in non league and don't deserve the problems that they are having.
