Players that may stay

Staying-up

Recommended Posts

who ever thinks any of the current first team players will be around next season are out of there mind!!

Batty - How the hell do you think Joe Dolan is quality, he has been one of the worst players to pull on a canvey shirt! He is even worse then the famous David Greggory, sorry Neil!!

Dolan earns around £500 a week, just think Jeffs got to pay him for another 2 years! Great signing Jeff, just shows what a great Manager you are!

to be fair Jeff has made many great signing, Tilson Stimson, Wardy, Bodley,Pennyfather & Boylan to name a few..

At the same time he has wasted alot of cash on players that were absolute rubbish D Greggory, Dolan & Bunce being some..

Jeff is moaning about support and the cost it is to run conference footie, maybe Jeff could have saved alot of money if he had not signed these sought of players

Just my view

Dont worry there are always some Muppets around. I thing Jeff has been great for the club - but we can no longer walk round with our heads in the sand - its time to move on.

We should all thank Jeff, Glen, players and backroom staff for ALL their assistance over the years - we've had some great times.

We will have more GREAT TIMES but under new management and staff.

Not a very good view though, Dolan in full flight is an excellent player, I have seen him in full flight many times, one of the best, unfortunately we have not seen him at his best at Canvey, probably because he has been unfairly restricted from playing. His reputation prior to Canvey was brilliant. I get a strong feeling that Jeffs been playing with people, rather than playing the best available. Unfortunately it has been at the clubs cost! If we didn't need him then why did we sign him? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/chat.gif" alt="" />

I honestly don`t think Dolan is fit, the few times he has played he has struggled badly. I`m sure Dolan is a good player,(fans of his previous clubs really rate him) but he hasn`t shown that at Canvey, you have to earn the right to play, no one should be picked on reputation.

his contract isnt up at the end of the season. so would we not need him whatever league we end up in

It appears that Jeff may not rate him as much as he first thought now either as he is not one of the three players who are contracted for next season - Looks likely he'll be paid up and shipped out at the end of the season.

(Along with everyone else most probably it has to be said).

He ain't match fit because he is not being selected to play. Not his fault!

He's a great bloke and good at motivating the others in the team. Shame Jeff seems to put all the new players on the bench!

So you play a player who isn`t fit and leave a fit player on the bench?

I thought that at first too and a couple of other players as well, but apparently there are only three players contracted for next season - Boylan, Minton & Kennedy.

It was confirmed by Keith Johnson that only three players are contracted for next season, and the Echo provided the names. I haven't heard anything to contradict these reports.

Dolan has struggled for several years with knee problems and hasn't played a great deal of first team football. He suffered a bad injury at Millwall which threatened his career. It isn't surprising he is a bit rusty.

I was told the 3 players are Boylan,Dolan and Tait.

Which is what I found weird when it was mentioned only three players were still contracted because as reported by our official site at the time Boylan, Minton, Kennedy and Potter had all signed until 2007, (I'm sure there is bound to be a thread on here somewhere to prove me right or wrong).

Tait signed for two years at the beginning of this season and Dolan was on a for another two years as well.
