Players that may stay

Staying-up

Recommended Posts

I've heard Jeff has said he will pay up any players' outstanding contracts but don't quote me on this.

as the club wont be able to pay the players wages who are still on contracts next season, this breaks there contract so they are free to leave after the last game of the season

If they want to! What if they stay?

I was told the 3 players are Boylan,Dolan and Tait.

Which is what I found weird when it was mentioned only three players were still contracted because as reported by our official site at the time Boylan, Minton, Kennedy and Potter had all signed until 2007, (I'm sure there is bound to be a thread on here somewhere to prove me right or wrong).

Here you go summer 2006 for Kennedy & Minton and the same for Potter

He ain't match fit because he is not being selected to play. Not his fault!

He's a great bloke and good at motivating the others in the team. Shame Jeff seems to put all the new players on the bench!

So you play a player who isn`t fit and leave a fit player on the bench?

But that is what has been happening with Duffy! He has not been match fit and should not have been on the field, for his sake more than the team.

who ever thinks any of the current first team players will be around next season are out of there mind!!

Batty - How the hell do you think Joe Dolan is quality, he has been one of the worst players to pull on a canvey shirt! He is even worse then the famous David Greggory, sorry Neil!!

Dolan earns around £500 a week, just think Jeffs got to pay him for another 2 years! Great signing Jeff, just shows what a great Manager you are!

As I have said I have seen him play when allowed and he is quality. If you treat players well they respond. I can understand anybody walking out when treated poorly having been promised the earth. You obviously have no personal knowledge of his past, but I'm sure you will see more of him in the future at higher levels. £500 a week is not a lot these days, but I would be interested to know how you can back up your quotes! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" />

The difference between Duffy and Dolan was with Bimson out we had no cover for Duffy and he was prepared to play on, if we were short of centre-backs i`m sure Dolan would have been used more no matter if he was match-fit or not.

Batty you say you rate Dolan as a player, was that from watching him at a previous club or during his spell at Canvey?

Where did you hear Jeff say that Yellow? Ithink he will pay up he is that sort of man. I was surprised to see Dwaine is 28, he looks younger to me, so probably why he signed for 3 yrs. I should imagine the squad are gutted by what has happened , particularly the newer members of the team who made a decision to join us in good faith when JK was already considering pulling out,it's not always about £'s.As for Dolan did'nt JK have him watched before he came, obviously not, so he loses money but what if some of that was from say our supporters trust we would not be very happy, a cautionary tale don't you think!

The website linked somewhere above has Dwain contracted to 2008, but that's wrong. I went back over the Official site last night and every player we signed during pre-season except Tait only signed for the one year.

if i were a canvey player now, after reading some of these posts why would i want to stay, Dolan is a quality player, and when he plays in the reserves he's constantly coaching Dan while he plays, praising him when he does good things and when he makes errors he gives alternative actions he could of taken, all while the games going on, so Dans learning all the time.

yes he does make mistakes himself, but so does Ferdinand, A Cole and many other top premiership players.

Get behind all our players, they might soon be gone.
