There is a slight/rumoured possibility that due to League restructuing down at those levels of the football pyramid we will be put in the Ryman Divsion 1 North which is what Hornchurch look set to be promoted to.

It's a very complicated situation what with (what seems like) hundreds of Clubs applying for ground grading and what like down there, they'll all be distributed accordingly but it is a possibility that we could take the place of a Club in a promotion spot down there if their ground is not up to scratch somewhere along the lines and they're denied promotion.

Matt i enjoyed the ESL days but no way do i want to go back there, i`d rather a boring 0-0 in the Conference than a 5-0 win in the ESL

The Conference is the top of the non-league game and i loved every minute of it.

I don't think anyone wants to drop as far as the ESL but if that's where we end up, I won't have any complaints.

I would prefer Ryman 1 or Conference South to be honest. (Don't want to join the Ryman Premier just in case all the Chelmsford speculation does come true and they'd have a field day rubbing it in our face if they tonked us with a load of ex-Gulls in their line-up.)

matt you say that but have or will your club have the finances to compete in the con south or ryman premier

Obviously i don`t know how much players in the Ryman or Conf South earn but say the average was about £100pw, you have a squad of 16 players = £1600pw on players alone, add to that a manager, physio, travel and various other costs =£2000pw A club would need to bring in £4000 each home game to keep it`s head above water.

Unless we come up with a decent sponsor i can`t see how we can set a budget that high next season.

I also think that total is on the low side and would be much higher for a team going for promotion.

No idea. It's an abbreviation they've used for years. I seem to remember a friend telling me the reasons but can't remember now!!!

the buses always have 'Hx' on the front and back showing the destination as they cannot get the full name into the box...the X being the old map sign for 'a church'...

so Hx it is...

by the way...look at the fotos on our forum of our cup victory last saturday and you'll see that whatever happens you have nothing to worry about...
