I was seen as too overly critical of an appalling performance at Bishop's Stortford one night.

It should've been just me banned, but seeing as our then Chairman didn't have a clue who was who he subsequently banned us all, (his mistake) while we were enjoying a pint at Maidenhead.

The ban also coincided with the timing of the newly launched Official site.

Our site is still there http://www.canveyfc.com and I was hoping once this had all come together we might've been able to transform it into an independent supporters trust site and relaunch it.

Was at that game and none of the supporters who were around me that night said anything different from your match report - dreadful.

Strange thing was it changed after that performance, the team and tactics altered, and as the saying goes "the rest is history"

I think Matt got misconstrued. There was people at the game moaning about the team and the management and Matt mentioned this.

I think the club thought Matt was slagging off the management but he wasn't.

There was people there moaning about team selection and performance - and it was at that point deserved.

It may have got misconstrued but really he has always written it as he sees it - if anything he kept it rather mild. Think his philosophy used to be "don't write what your not prepared to say to a players face".

At the end of the day no fan should have to be vetted for their thoughts or what they have written. As fans we should be honest and keep it in perspective but shouldn't be afraid of writing what we feel or scoring players just in case one is low. This is one of those things that I feel causes people to question Jeff and the way the club "was" run. At the end of the day I admire Matt for remaining loyal when it would have been easier to say [****!!****] to this.

Lets move away from being an £11.50 zombie.

Yes, wise words I learnt from Merv when I admittedly was too critical of Mickey Bennett one season.

Not wishing to drag this out once more, (it was over two seasons ago now) but the Bishop's Stortford issue was just my assumption as we weren't given a satisfactory reason, just a comment of: "You've upset some people at the Club, and you've upset me". The report is still there for all to read - http://www.canveyfc.com/2003/reports/6.htm, (excuse the poor grammar ).

Once the ban was in place I only went to one more game at Park Lane that season and got in with a little help from EFM. I was also slightly paranoid at that game too due to a few hefties walking around the ground continually watching the crowd My posting statistics show I had a very quiet time on here too, just 300 posts for that entire year.

Through the ban I also did a little free press work for Hornchurch - Photograph their FA Cup game against Tranmere(?) and help design their new website for their season prior to re-forming.

The pre-season prior to our first season in the Conference, (for we were unable to give coverage of our Championship winning season which, I'm sure the fans would've loved) we were informed that our ban was lifted and hence I have returned, (minus pad & pen).

They were probably there to keep an eye on EFM considering their reputation at the time!!!

Good stuff

If you could get your hands on something like Paintshop Pro 8 or Macromedia Fireworks MX then you could improve the image quality (even make the the white bit around the crest go away) a lot better and it doesn't involve that much work at all.

If I were you, I'd try and get my hands on something like that, could be very useful .

i have got fireworks but i like the effect of the white around the club crest. about the image quality-where the image size was reduced it took some quality away and where i am hosting with freewebs at the moment i cannot have large images as i don't have enough space on my account. but your comments are apreciated.
