I have sent a letter to the Echo

So we have eight days to organise and prepare ourselves for the worst, (if indeed Jeff considers the season over at 5:45pm next Saturday).

The Trust meeting is on 4th May. Our deadline for withdrawing from the Conference is May 13th?

From now until 4th May we as Trust members should start to be thinking about who we want to nominate/elect onto the Commitee.

After that they will have until the Conference deadline to submit a resignation and from then on plan and decide the best course of action for our Club to survive past this season, in whichever league we are accepted into.

(That is, if no-one is already making these decisions for us.)

From there every CIFC fan/CIST member will be working their [****!!****] off in whatever capacity they can to ensure we're all set and ready to kick-off the new season in August.

That's gonna be tight, especially from the formation of the Trust to the Conference withdrawal date. If Jeff truly wants our Club to survive he'll let us get on with it and won't involve any red-tape.

But why the lack of information, or lack of confirmation/denial of rumours.

The drawn out nature of what has happened is just going to reinforce the view that is bubbling under that we don't have a say. If we fail to engage the existing fanbase as a whole from the start we are going to hit the same problems as the club has previously experienced, and if we can't engage existing, committed fans how are we t attract new fans.

I appreciate that a degree of confidentaility must be maintained, but surely we can expect to be kept informed of whether meeting are occuring and whether decisions as fundamental as resigning from the Conference are being taken by a small group which, no matter how comitted or well-meaning, is currently unelected and acting without a mandate. (Pause for breath) And I say this in no way aiming criticism ay those involved, who I know to be acting in good faith.

Surely the mandate for everyone is to keep this football club alive at the highest level we can survive at?

Most of these people have been involved with the running of the club for a few seasons and i think they have more of an idea of how to run a club than the average fan and i have faith in them. Personally i accept that even with a Supporters Trust there are going to be things decided on without my backing that i might not agree with but as long as it`s for the good of the club so be it.

Agree entirely, and I'm not having a dig at any of the Admin Committee at the Club. But it would be nice to be kept in the loop as it were by an official 'voice' as to what is being decided and by who.

Example: (For simpletons who might take the following statement seriously!)

A post from Club representative merely stating something as simple as:

"The Adminstrative Committee are currently drawing up a letter of resignation from the Nationwide Conference National, which will be submitted at the end of the current season. Once accepted the Committee look to apply for a position in the [insert Appropriate League Here] for the 2006/07 season."

Or am I/we asking too much?

I would love to know whats going on but suppose to many cooks spoil the broth.

It's difficult trying to agree anything with my missus - must be murder if your trying to get a consensus of opinion from 150 people!

I've had enough now and I'm just going to let it run its course.

I trust details will be released as and when they become available because at the moment I'm getting pissed off reading rumour and inuendo.

It's gonna be at least a fortnight before things start to come together - I just hope accurate details are released as and when available to keep the rest of us informed because otherwise people will start to lose interest and momentum - it's not the trust it's lack of detail from the main man. He ain't gonna do anything until the end of the season so everyone will be waiting with baited breath until he reveals his real intentions.

Just as long as someone keeps me up to date via here, I'm sure I can wait.

Hopefully the decision will already be concluded by at least the end of the that night.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it.
