Now things seem to be settling down has anyone considered approaching a couple of those fringe players who may be interested in staying for a reasonable wage.

What do they call a reasonable wage these days? Wouldn`t do any harm to ask players but i doubt we could afford any of last seasons squad.

I`d guess that after finding out what division we will be playing in yesterday and announcing ticket prices today the club are still trying to work out what budget they have for players next season.

If people intend on buying a season ticket it may help to buy it asap, that way the club will have an idea of who is going to turn up and set the budget accordingly.

Reckon most clubs will be cutting the cloth next season, cant imagine Chelmsford will be paying any of our boys as much as they were on here and most other local clubs dont get much more through the gate as we do, so a few might fancy staying.

Anyone know what Neil Greggory is doing?
surely would make a great assistant, has vast experience, having played at a number of levels and the young lads respect him.
would be an asset to the club.

To me Greggors as a player/coach would be a fantastic move, imagine if we could somehow keep him and Wardy amongst all that youth.

Someone should make the approach.

I think having Neil remain at the Club in some capacity, would be hugely beneficial. I don't know where he has to travel from, but even if he and Wardy and maybe Britnell could form the 'old-heads' among the new crop it would be a big lift.

The appearances I've seen him make this season, particularly coming off the bench have helped maintain or change a game in our favour - Grays at home, clattering Thurgood as soon as he came on was quite memorable

Ok Chelmsford is closer, BUT, by remaining with us, a Canvey legend, (legends if Wardy could be pursuaded to stay) could be perfect candidates to help take the Club forward in it's new era assisting Batchy!

Phone John and tell him if he does not want to wake up next to a horses head he is to sign a forwards player/coach = Gregors (one g)and defender player/coach = Wardy (one w).

Thats it deal done.

Seriously!! John must know that there has been some quality performances by Gregors this season.

I suspect he is new and needs some time to have the confidence to spend the little bit of money we will have.
