thats a very easy thing to say matt. what you have to remember is that playing football has been my only way of earning money to pay the bills for the last 18 years. so as much as i love the game and canvey, i still have to earn a wage

I think it's wrong for us to pressure Neil like this... We should just castrate him when he leaves for someone else.

don't see it as putting him under pressure,we are just letting him know that we still want him!(aah)
anyway i think we all know that players have to make the decision that is best for them and their families.
i just feel that Neil would make a good coach-with the ability to move on to management at a later date.

Course he would and he knows it. But, though money isn't everthing, he's still got to earn enough to live. Good luck to you Neil, whether you're with us or not next season.

Of course it is, I'm a Student . If you can't play, you're always more than welcome back at Park Lane anytime. That goes for any other players reading this as well.

Oh! Do you run then?

I have only been following Canvey for 4 seasons I probably missed it.

Seriously, it would be fantastic if you and John could have a chat and work things out.

If not, then good luck with whatever you do, you are the provider of many good memories for me and I like many others are very grateful for them.

I think John was elected manager by the supporters and he agreed not to take a wage before we knew how things were going to work out.

He stepped up to the mark when we were desperate to steady a ship.

Now the club is looking to be financially sound, I think it would be wrong that John did not take a wage, I will certainly be saying that at the meeting on Thursday.

I anticipate that the club will want to make sure we can attract the best players that our money can buy, we have to be realistic, we will be no worse of than we were 3 years ago, finacially.

We will have a much smaller squad, but we will have to compete on and off the pitch with our peers which means we will have to pay wages.

I think Johns biggest challenge will be to turn youngsters into footballers, how many candidates can you see to help with that???
