My alligence is with ENFIELD.My alligence is with the club, fans and area that i grew up with.I wish things had been different and lazarou had not been involved with the club,i wish we didn't have to take the measures we did.In an ideal world i wish i was still watching the old (real) EFC that i grew up with and loved as much as any fan (including yourself).

ETFC are not the old Enfield, but they are a damn sight closer in linearage, location and fanbase, too the OLD (my) Enfield, than the current set up that have carried on under the name EFC.

Also to say you should have never supported Town, is a slap in the face to all those that stood ,cheered and celebrated with you, during and after all those Town games that you were part of.

It's probably best not to go down the old roads of the split yet again, but I wonder TopGun, if you reported the misdemeanour of the email officially to the ETFC board? If you know the identity of the offender I would expect them to take what action they can.

Jim.Maybe if you watched more than two games a season, you might become as passionate about football in Enfield,as me and Topgun are. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

there you go again. Once again telling people they have no right to an opinion! You obviously have no idea of my history with EFC or ETFC. same as you have no idea as to my political leanings. what newspaper I read or how anybody else feels about either club!

Jim. I know exactly what your History is with ETFC and formerly EFC.

Who mentioned not being allowed an opinion?? I was commenting ON your opinion that any discussions about football in Enfield past, future, or present,are..'Tripe'.

I have also made no mention of politics or Newspapers for weeks,so why do you and people like Tom keep bringing it up?

In the interests of openness and disclosure, I can reveal that I had Kelloggs Fitnesse for breakfast this morning, followed by toast and marmalade. What about you, Jim?

I'm a Towner but some of you Es who still have connections in the Town may be interested in the following:

Spurs have submitted a revised planning application for a First team Training Centre and Academy Facility on 23 hectares of Green Belt land immediately west of Myddelton House in Bulls Cross. The revised plan for the main site still shows a massive building complex of 12,000m2 compared with the existing sports pavilion of 700m2 which is to be demolished. There has been some reconfiguration and the footprint of the complex has been slightly reduced, but the academy wing and the first team wing now wrap around the south and east sides of the covered football pitch; so there is a building mass with a length of 108m x 125m with a height of up to 9m. The maximum height of the covered pitch is 10.5m and with floodlighting columns 15m high it is difficult to accept Spurs' contention that nothing will be visible to the public,
especially form the elevated postion of Forty Hall.

Why is it that the Council feel happy to help the team from down the road yet they do little to help our team in it's own borough? If you are concerned about the plans or are simply frustrated by the inequality of their approach to the two clubs situations you should send your objections to the Council.

This massive private and commercial development is situated wholly within the Green Belt. It is within the Enfield Chase Area of Special Character, mostly within the historic Forty Hall Estate and on land which formed part of the 16th century deer park of Elsyng Manor House; part of the site is within the existing Forty Hill Conservation Area and the Character Appraisal for this Area, commissioned last year by the Council, recommends for all the above reasons, safeguarding this area by extending the Conservation Area to include all the remaining land under threat from Spurs.

Please send in objections to:-

Mr D Snell, Environment, Street Scene and Parks, London Borough of Enfield, PO Box 53, Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield EN1 3XE, quoting Reference TP/06/0735.

Its a pity in all the rubbish that has ended up on this thread the point seems to have been lost after the top few posts on this usbject.

If the council are willing to help Spurs then at some point they will have to look at the Enfield / Enfield Town situation and find somewhere in the borough for the clubs to play either there own grounds or a shared one (Donkey lane maybe).

Spurs moving onto green belt land is not the issue.
Spurs moving into Enfiled is.

Spurs having any facility in the borough funded by The Council, Football Foundation or any other body takes money away from teams in the borough that should be getting it.

Weather that senior or youth teams, Spurs building a facility, should have something included in it that helps clubs in the borough as well.

When Enfield and Enfield Town are told there is no land to build a new ground how is it Spurs come in and find somewhere with no trouble at all.

The local papers may not be the font of all knowledge but if it is right, then Tottenham’s application includes provision for investment in facilities for Enfield football teams, namely the redevelopment of Donkey Lane.

Some people are uncomfortable as this looks like a sweetener but money talks and this is a way of securing investment for a local cause.

If it all comes together, then the potential is there for a number of options to be investigated:

1. Enfield Town and Enfield share Donkey Lane.
2. Enfield Town move to Donkey Lane and Enfield share Goldsdown Road.
3. Enfield move to Donkey Lane and Enfield Town stay put.

Its possible supporters of both clubs could be happy as Enfield would finally return home after their departure in 1999. Enfield Town are obviously there already but finally get the sources of income so vital to aid climbing the pyramid.

No3 will not happen.

No2 Slight posibility

No1 Very slight possiblity

I feel the options of both teams staying where they currently are,or Town moving to the QE2,with EFC staying at Ware, are probably the best options to go for, if your are a betting man.

No 1 would be the best option but a very long shot . Could both work together without friction ?
No2 & No 3 would be an enormous drain on one clubs resorces , And is unlikely.

I wouldn't rule out the question of how much land the Council wishes to recover from the various Brimsdown Leases/Licenses, in the shorter or longer term, for redevelopment in terms of who will need to be offered the opportunity to make use of any facilities at QEII.

So that's sorted that out.

EFC and ETFC share Brimmo and Brimmo get QEII!
