Can someone please tell me what the f**k I witnessed tonight?!

In the six seasons I have been to follow Canvey up and down the country, that is by far the most disgracful performance I've ever seen them play!!!

If Jeff wasn't taking the comeptition so seriously why did he put out such a strong team and charge us £9 to watch the crap they conjoured up?!!

I am so f**king mad I don't even want to think about it!!!

shud have followed my plan matt.. gone for beer in the jellie till the second half was under way, snuck in midway thru the second half for nowt and still see three goals.. tho i did miss a penalty miss and the sending off... mind you i'd done a bit to much lager to realise we were a player down and i thought chenners goal was an equaliser ;-)..

i was hoping to see some youngsters in the second half hence my plan of action ... still, i like the use of the word crap, its accurate, descriptive and neatly to the point...

mind you my 'more mellow attitude' may be due to my saving the admitance fee

Bit difficult to write a match report tonight. If I had written the truth I would probably get banned from Park Lane for being so negative. If I had lied, I couldn't look my fellow supporters in the eye.

The penalty bounced off the crossbar and over the line. For anyone who might have doubts, Paul Nicholls (the Chelmsford keeper) told us fans behind the barrier that it was 'a yard over.' I suppose that had it gone in, with a score-line of 2-1 with 11 men still on the field, we might have stood a chance.

Parms was a tad unlucky to get a straight red. Yellow yes, red... well the ref was watching a different game all night so nothing he did surprised me. Canvey were denied at least one other penalty in each half.

Still, no excuses. We were totally lacking in ideas or commitment. Chelmsford deserved their victory.

On the 26/8/02 i wrote a thread entitled (lack of strikers ) and aired my concern about the cover we had if Gregory and Boylan were injured,i think tonight proved my point.Brayley and Cobb were none existent,I think the only players to come out of it with any credit were JK,Parms and Minton who all showed some effort. As for the rest of them that was the worst display i have ever seen from a Canvey team, there is something seriously wrong going on behind the scenes as good players dont turn to crap from one season to the next.

I suppose Jeff will be saying again that certain players will be leaving the club, lets hope this time he does it, some of them dont deserve to wear the Canvey shirt and are dragging the club down.

I agree with all the above it was absolutely S**T, The whole game we looked second best, Maybe we should get the players in front of the computer in the club house and read these notes.

They will see that we all agree that they are very good players but it appears most of them don't want to play for us.

Come on, Something must happen !!!

Also I do hear a lot of people totally getting into certain players and telling them every time they get the ball they are absolutely F***ING S**T does not help....

Leave it to the notice board

Very difficult one, this. That's why it took me so long to write a match report and why Matt isn't too sure about doing his players' ratings page. It doesn't help anyone if we get on the players' backs and send morale even lower than it pobably is.

But on the other hand, we can't hide from facts. Based on the facts that we saw running out there last night, fans are going to get annoyed and want to vent their spleens. Quite rightly.

At some point we have to get behind our team and cheer/encourage them on to greater things. Telling any player that he is c**p is the last way to improve his performance, but at the same time, we can't pretend that everything is hunky-dory. Perhaps this discussion board is the right place for us all to have an immediate moan, to get it out of our systems and hope that normal service will be resumed ready for Saturday.

It is now Jeff and Glen's job to read any fortunes that need to be told because, somehow or other, the message isn't getting across that the present level of commitment isn't good enough.

So let's get it all off our collective chest, via these pages, but get back down there on Saturday and, as fans, see if we can't give it the 110% that we demand from the players. How many of us are guilty of 'pulling out' of a cheer or 'not getting up to' a song? How many of us fail to last the whole 90 minutes? How often do some of us 'fade' when it's not going our way?

Come on you Yellows.

ok.. that was by unanimous decision..'crap'..

but we have a big home league game against the K's on saturday that usually draws a biggish crowd, in our last 6 games in the league we have won 4 n lost 2, that isnt to bad, its not championship form but its certainly not crap.. lets get down there, get a few pints on board and see how things shape up.. im all for encouraging support but im also for giving players some stick if they are not TRYING!! (9 quids worth of stick to be exact), they are big boys now and this is football...

...

the K's are struggling recently after a delayed red hot start, so we should be hoping for 3 points here and we are still in the trophy with a good home draw... so its not all doom n gloom just yet

(canv disclaimer..ok i didnt pay 9 quid and was a bit pissed so it didnt affect me as much)

Merv we have (strongly) been critical of individuals this season in reports (minus too much hesitation) and in message comment

So what if the "crap" comment is wider if a single member of the team can take stick so then can a collective 9 or ten

There is no rule that states we have to be positive every time or that states "we" cannot make mistakes IE phil old boy was stating earlier in the season that we have "moved on" in the last two years (I think not)

There is an unspoken rule however that if we are damming when critical then we take a deep breath and begin again in a positive attitude

ALL TOGETHER DEEP BREATH

Sorry Pabird, I’m really lost with you labelling me that I have said that Canvey football has moved on. If I remember correctly, I mentioned sometime ago about playing more of the “old boys” who were left at the club from last season and beyond. At least we know that these players are genuine and really do try. In fact, it was you who said that we had “moved on” from those times a year or two ago through losing Stimson, Tilson, Smith & Co.

Not one of pabird's usual pithy and erudite postings, Phil. I didn't understand half the things that were aimed at me. Seems to be arguing with my posting further up the page but concludes by suggesting that we all get behind the lads at the next game. Ermmm.. that's what my message said.

Thanks Merv. I thought it was me. If that was so bad on Tuesday then let’s hope they have got that one out of their system in a cup match, rather than a league game. Forecast not looking good for football next week, with a possible freeze on the way. Could be the last game on Saturday for a little while if it comes off.

Merv in your first posting you felt it would be wrong to be too critical of individual players

I was pointing out that such niceties had not occurred to you when being severely critical of individuals in earlier games

My comments reference negative comments were completed by saying that we must "after" unloading on the message board return to being positive and behind the team

No matter how we feel about the last game we must make the players feel good about the next

Your boss gets less productivity from you if you lose the desire to go to work
