from the FA.com

"Enfield FC has been charged with a number of breaches of the Rules of The Football Association relating to financial matters. A hearing will take place on 4th February 2003."

Unlucky Tone!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wavey.gif" alt="" />

Not 100% sure but I think it's mid to late december. Dont know when the fan's would find out though! Some say Hertford some say Cheshunt or Barnet, Storford, some even just want a ground within a 50 mile radius (JOKE!!!!!!) Cant see it but a ground in Enfield would be nice

Jim, I think it's common knowledge by now that Enfield council have problems with Laz full stop, but - as you know - this isn't about one man, or, this shouldn't be about one man. It's about the club and team that has over 100 years of history.

To be honest my view is that if they have a problem with EFC because of Laz then quite frankly those council members are not good enough to do the job. If they don't realise that it's about more than that now, then all I can say is that the history books won't forget it.

Having said all that, it'll be interesting to see what Laz does now the FA are taking action.

Once again - does anyone know what the charges are?

The quote from an f.a spokeeswoman in the Gazette say's "I can confirm that Enfield F.C have been charged with a number of breaches of the rules of the FA relating to financial matters"
The paper say's this as well Robsy "On Feb 4th next year an inquiry will reach a verdict on whether chairman Tony Lazarou broke FA regulations when he sold the club's base in sept 1999 leaving them homeless"
That's all the paper said and all I have found out Robsy!
On another note the FA hearing should have no affect on thr council case that Laz has. I think!

If Laz is found guilty by the F.A and kicked out of football will he still
be able to sue the council , as he will no longer be the chairman of the
football club ,also his record in court cases is not that good in fact it,s
bloody useless .

I phoned the FA yesterday and they don't seem to be giving out any further info. other than what you've said.

But, If - and it's only If - if they find him 'guilty' of selling the ground without proper permission (etc etc) what exactly can they do and how can it benefial for the club?

Rubbish. The council have every reason to have a problem with Lazarou. He has twisted and turned in recent years, has lied to just about everyone and clearly has no morals. He owns EFC, thus everyone should be wary of him and the club. This is not meant as a snipe at the history, playing staff or fans. It is a critisism of LAzarou himself. However, by ownership, he has the last say in what goes on at this once great club. ANYONE thinking of entering into any business relationship with him or the club should be very wary.

Laz's main problem is that he's gonna get stabbed up by Crowther.
