The land of three wives would be Utah, where the biggest population of Mormons live. I'm in Indiana, the land of corn, basketball and the 500.

I remember now..'Indiana wants me, lord I can't go back there'....R Dean Taylor..was he the only white man to ever appear on the Tamla Motown label?

Every time we are out and about, hubby says he is going to beat up one of the Amish men and run off with his hat. I think it might have something to do with the Weird Al song "Amish Paradise".

Do love a bit a of Weird Al..Eat it, Like a Surgeon..quality!

A quote from this page says "Why do Amish men have beards, but not mustaches?"

"There are quite a few scripture that mention beards in the Bible. An example would be Psalm 133:1,2. An Amishman does not shave his beard after he becomes married; a long beard is the mark of an adult Amishman. Mustaches, on the other hand, have a long history of being associated with the military, and therefore are forbidden among the Amish people."

My guess is it is taken from an Amish bible, because no other version would state it as "Amishman", but as "man".

Other than that, I don't know. I knew that only married Amish men have beards, but beyond that, I didn't know, so I googled it.

We're looking at a high of 81f today. It has been a bit cooler the last couple of days because of a cold front moving through with the last storm. At least things seem to have settled down a bit as far as all the storms and tornado warnings go.
