Not sure if anyone can help me here....

Me and some guys from work have managed to get hold of tickets for the opening ceremony in Munich tomorrow.

Problem is we need to be in and out of their and back by Friday night.

Anyone got any experiences or knowledge of Munich airport and getting to and from the airport to the ground.

Any info. gratefully received.

Cheers

It's all looking good for tomorrow - managed to get flights for tomorrow - although it's going to be a mad rush.

Looked at a website and it seems pretty well organised around the ground. It's just getting to and from the airport and the congestion that worries me. Looks like a 40 minute taxi ride under normal circumstances. Don't suppose we'll get anywhere near the ground though so a bit of a walk

I'm sure you lot are going to have a great time when you go

Not sure if anyones interested but I managed to get to the opening ceremony and game in Munich - all done in one mad rush!

The ground and people were all really nice and helpful and if my short experience is anything to go by the Yellow Army will have a great time

I've attached some general photos of the stadium and the day.......

It was Yellow.

Apparently all the panels you see in the photo from the outside light up. White when Germany are playing or red/blue when Bayern Munich are at home - obviously I never got a chance to witness that.

We were told they had to change the colours of the panels slowly because it was so eye catching that they had problems with drivers and accidents on nearby roads!

Still can't beat Park Lane!

That looks incredible! Apparently they have problems lighting the stadium for matches, in that road accidents keep happening when people take their eyes of the road to look!

You can understand it when you look at the photos in the following links.

Wonder if Castle Point could construct something simlar at Waterside but with a hint of Yellow instead of blue or red

Im back from Frankfurt and what a experience it was:

there was enough people on the river bank to fill park lane three times over

there were flags everywhere people jumping off of bridges the fire brigade spraying us with water

(to cool us down im not a thug) playing 3 a side live on argentinian tv and the commentators calling me el toro

(whatever that means) doing shots

of gone off calpol (jagermiester)

reinacting the carling ads in the main square playing keepy uppy with german police officers at 5am so many memories and in only four days

Lads your gonna love it out there!!!!
