Thursday's Meeting (29/06/06)

Not much was said, to be honest. The main thing was that Jeff has now signed the club over to the new board and it's all been done according to FA requirements. We are no longer culpable to any one body, everyone's excited about the new season and the players are back to pre-season next week.

Basically, everything that was said was said in the space of about fifteen minutes, so you can imagine it wasn't a lot.

The press release on the official site says it all really.

Ribbit's summed the majority of it up.

The transaction wasn't easy at stages and there were hold-ups, however these were not elaborated upon.

The six board members are: Dennis Rugg, Gary Sutton, John Morris, John Batch, Keith Johnson and Chris Gardner.

A question was asked that could they assure us there are no outside parties without any hold or influences and the answer to that was simply no.

They, (the Board) will be working closely with Glen and the Supporters Club in giving us the news and the facts and they assured us that we could approach them comfortably if they had any questions, however if the question a supporter has involves legalities it might not be possible to give a straight answer immediately. The Board emphasised that this club is now a democracy.

Wayne Purser will resume his secretarial duties voluntarily until he finds employment at another football club, from which Gary Sutton will take over.

The players return to pre-season training next week, and as is said on the official website, John Batch has been given the go ahead to sign the players he's been talking to over the past couple of weeks.

The summary of it all was: Jeff King has gone, and sold the club over to the new Board, who are all very excited about taking the club forward.

Just to clarify that, the Board DID confirm that no outside parties would have any influence over the club.

That's what I meant! The answer to the question was no, not that they refused to answer the question!
