by the way I'm told by a friend at Middx County the Groundshare with Hounslow Borough is back on this time with people from County getting involved

I hope not for reasons
1. The extra wear & tear on the pitch &
2. IMO they're a bunch of shysters (HB not MCFA). Even their webmaster has got fed up with waiting for payment (over a year) and is no longer updating the site.

It's probably because the Middlesex County FA have got wind of the fiasco and Hounslow won't be allowed to play in the Hellenic League Premier Division without floodlights, time is getting on and the league are no doubt getting twitchy. Presumably your Reserves will be playing at Grosvenor Vale so how will you be able to cope with so many games on the hallowed turf not to mention all the cup games.

On Takumi, yes he somtimes over reacts, but as with any player who plays in a new country (language, history, weather, type of grass, type of referees, type of tactics, style etc) it takes time to adapt. If you want to judge what you saw in two games within his first season in English non league football then go ahead. However the fact he is at Hendon and doing well which shows in itself that he is a very good player who is moving in the right direction. Also, he is learning to stay on his feet and play in a more English way (or at least in a way that English people apreciate), if you watch him play this season you will see a big difference from last season, same talent, but a player who is adapting to the way we play. And great entertainment watching him play.

Rak - Thanks I hope to see you there but Paula might be expecting me to take her out tomorrow in which case forget it, I'm on a promise. Where is your friendly with Potters Bar taking place on Saturday and what time, I'll see if I can make it, Kevin may fancy it if it's a morning kick off, no doubt he's planning to attend a game in the afternoon. Do you know how Haringey got on at Padbury on Saturday by the way, the result is 'surprisingly' not on their Website as yet.

Very helpful as ever Kevin, good man, see you there if you're going but you must be like a pig in muck at the moment with the choice of all these pre season friendlies going on.

Quite content at the moment thanks, Cliff. Was at Potters Bar tonight as we came from two down to beat Hemel Hempstead Town 3-2. The plan at the moment (subject to change) is to be at Bishops Stortford tomorrow night, Tilbury on Thursday, Ipswich Town on Friday, either Millwall U18 or Arsenal U18 on Saturday morning, Potters Bar on Saturday afternoon and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Next week is already starting to take shape as well!

  • 2 weeks later...

Thought I would be helpful and post the scores on the doors from some of the friendlies involving SSML Club's yesterday: Canvey Island 4 Biggleswade Town 2 er we already know about, Chalfont St Peter 2 Marlow 2, Harlow Town 2 Broxbourne Borough 1, Huntingdon Town 0 Hoddesdon Town 1, Ipswich Wanderers 2 Cockfosters 0, London Colney 2 Stoffold 1 and St Ives Town 2 Royston Town 2. Ruislip Manor v Windsor and Eton was postponed and I would be interested to know from either Lato or Manorborn why, I gather there was a worrying problem with the hallowed Grosvenor Vale turf on Thursday when we were over there.

Hertford v Brook House was also postponed, because the mighty Brook decided not to travel when thir reserve team manager, who was at Hertford for an earlier game, told them the pitch was sh*t. Everyone else came!
