Canvey 2 1 Sevenoaks

YELLOW

Recommended Posts

A good run out for the team tonight against a Sevenoaks side who battled hard and made it difficult for us.

Goalscorers were Jay Curran and Nicky Rugg with Dobbo playing his first game and playing well for the hour he was on the field.

I'll try and do a full match report if I get a chance on Wednesday evening.

Attendance tonight was 307 I think. Very impressive considering the opposition and time of the year.

If I was John Batch I would offer terms to Chris Bourne and the trialist Clyde Rossett straight after tonight's game. Two games and two excellent performances.

Mind you, Colin Wall has returned to the Lane and branded the Captain's armband tonight!!

I will be back down the club Thursday night to purchase both the home and away kits.

Photos I took tonight will be online shortly, if not first thing in the morning. Thanks to Steve Corbell for flashing his [****!!****] at me, I wanted your other face!!!

Yes another good work-out tonight and a quality goal from Curran Good to see Colin Wall back at Park Lane and i`ve got to agree with Matt about the performance of the trialists, i hope we can offer them contracts because they look very good players.

I said earlier that i would have been happy with 250 tonight so 307 is another good turn-out

I don't think it's any sort of reflection but reading the Hornchurch forum they appear to have had 182 at their home game tonight against Met Police. If they maintained a 400 average last season it would appear quite good for us I feel getting crowds in the 300's for pre season friendlies.

Who was our number 6 tonight?

Some photos from last night's game are here - It's amazing how fast the light was fading as you can tell between some of the grainy shots. Hopefully any pictures I take this coming Saturday will be of better quality.

I agree, a good workout last night. They were a different side to Billericay but i thought the team coped well.

I think most of the players will be able to cope this season apart from a few exceptions but the futu res bright, the futures Yellow!!

I thought the lads played really well last night, there was good movement on the pitch and they looked like they were enjoying playing for Canvey. With the enthusiasm of Batchy, the players and the supporters and we should do well this season.

after watching the game i can't wait for the season i feel more involved in the club then ever i look to each canvey game now as a challenge we can't expect to much from the lads they are only young but the footbal they play is exciting, fun and lively people enjoy watching the lads play and young can tell this by the crowds now we have even more experience in the squad with the addition of ex gull colin wall re signing watch out the gulls are flying!!!

I'm more excited than ever. People that want to play for the club they love. Colin Wall looked good and can only get better, him along with David Kraylin (?!?!) and Crow will make a formidable back line. Dobbo pulling the strings in the middle and a choice of fast young strikers!! Roll on the first game!!

To be honest, should Bourne sign on I can't really see Crow getting many games this season. He's going to have to fight hard to oust Bourne and even Holmes if he signs too.

I was thinking today, who would I have in my startling line-up and after two games it's already so tough! Every way you look at it, it leaves out someone experienced and/or someone who's played out of their skin in both games.

Oh to be a football manager!
