Canvey Island v Biggleswade Town Match Report

Recommended Posts

Good report although a few mistakes!!!

Thought the lads played well, a battling performance and at times some good football. Thought i'd give a stab myself at everyone's performances:

Rik - Starting to look more solid (7 out of 10)

Holmes - looking better by the game (7)

West - good distribution, good in parts but needs to cut out the fancy stuff (7)

Kraykin - Great goal, marshalled the defence well (8)

Lamb - dont think he'll displace George Blewer but played ok (6)

Clyde - didnt even see him first half but second half he was amazing - (9)

Dobbo - kept things simple and good distribution (8)

Corbell - Good presence and got forward well (8)

Reade - didnt get enough service but was the hardest working player on the field 1st half (8)

Davies - good touch but dont think he'll push for a start this year. (6)

Rugg - hat-trick, nothing else needs to be said (9)

This was my view on Saturdays performances..

Rik - Looked alot more confident, still needs to work on his distribution (7 out of 10)

Holmes - Steady game, good squad player (6)

West - What a talent, another strong performance, 1st choice CB with Kraylin for me (8)

Kraykin - Great goal, possibly the find of pre-season (8)

Lamb - commited performance, good squad player (6)

Clyde - Different gravy to any player on the the pitch, great skills and lots of pace. (9)

Dobbo - Getting back to his best, accomplished performance, he showed moments of real quality(8)

Corbell - Good performance, i personally think he is a better wide player (7)

Reade - This lad will get better by the game, he showed a great engine and has good ability on the ball, (7)

Davies - Good touch but it looks like he may struggle with the physical side of the game. An ok performance . (6)

Rugg - There is not many players that work as hard as Ruggy, overall game was excellent on Saturday and he notched a Hat Trick..(9)

What do you mean, wrong Biggleswade? Surely there's only one.

They were okay. Played pretty well and matched us give or take for most of the match. We were the better team overall and I doubt you'll have a problem turning them over.

I know I am... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

True what you say, but Hinckley used to have three teams, as did Sudbury (if you count Cornard) and Harrogate has two as well..sure there are others, but cannot be ar$ed at the mo...

Whoops almost forgot..err Canvey?

good analysis Shedboy. Will be interesting to see the line-up for the first game with everyone playing so well. Surely there's got to be more people who'll give an anlysis!!!!!!!!

I think that that is the key point - everybody's playing so well! I find it hard to single out any players at the moment, because whatever they are doing as a team, it's working!
