A personal response to TL comments on the back page of todays Enfield Gazette – I am very happy at a lower level of football not because I want to be there but because you are not! We get things wrong sometimes but our heart is in the right place and we are earnest in our desire to give the people of Enfield a team that they can be proud of.

Town has its own history of success, great fans, best players, best management team and lottery. The only thing that EFC could offer a merged club is position in the Ryman Premiership if you can keep it. Next season Town will be in the Ryman Division 1 GV.

If you’re serious about reunification allow Enfield Town Supporters Society to do a full due-diligence on what remains of EFC and the price would be no more than a pound. Town would need indemnity from an outstanding lawsuits and a debt free EFC.

Otherwise don’t detract Town from its successful progress with timewasting tactics. We've seen it all before!

Prehaps Mr Lazerou would like to merge with a puff adder and leave what is left of EFC alone. Ultimately the clubs could merge with a ground in Enfield but not until the wonderful chairman of EFC has departed

Wow, you're such big men.

So fecking big actually you come on a website for the fans - that Laz doesn't look at - to send him a message. Why don't you say it to the big fella's face, or maybe write a letter to him. Or maybe act like an intelligent human-being and ignore what the paper wrote and what he apparently said. You know it's bullshit, I know it's bullshit. So why not just treat it like that and leave this site alone. Here, we're more concerned with the team and the way they play than with the cr*p you and the local papers write.

'tis the season to be jolly... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" />

Rude!

Go buy a dictionary. You want to listen to what people shout on the terraces. Don't take the moral high-ground.

If you've got a problem with me pointing out the fact that this website doesn't want to hear the type of thing's your mate was writing then say it, then go moan at Town. Don't try and lord it.

A few points.

1) Considering the points made concerned both clubs, then both sets of fans have every right to come onto either forum to make their points.

2) Not eveyone shouts abuse from the terraces and I have not taken the moral high ground. You will see from many of my posts that I normally conduct myself in this way on these forums.

3) The definition of 'rude' is to be impolite or insulting, coarse, vulgar or obscene. I REST MY CASE ON THAT ONE. However, as I have commented on another thread, this forum is viewed by youngsters and you should be setting a better example.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!!

Now we have the 'proof' Laz is NUTS - I read the Telegraph writeup and was totally dismayed to see inferances to a merger!!

They nearly killed our club just because a few egomaniacs on an ego trip and others followed like Lemmings!

CRAP! Wake up Laz - those that remain have the club at heart. DEAL WITH THEM if you want out.

Dear 'Mr Tiger'

Please name the 'few egomaniacs on an ego trip', as I'd certainly like to know who they are. Then again, you probably won't do so as you don't seem to have a proper name yourself.

As for merging the two clubs, forget it. Too much water under the bridge, too many broken promises by Big Tone. Besides which what has EFC got to offer? Oh yes, I'd forgotten, over 100 years of tradition, and err, what else other than 50 or so (and I may be being generous there) highly loyal fans who, if we are stooping to name calling, follow Big Tones boys lemming-like all around the home counties in search of a 'home' game. Hendon, St Albans, Boreham Wood, Bishops Stortford, Cheshunt, the list just goes on and on.

Wake up and smell the roses - the only reason he may, and I do say may want out is due to the impending FA hearing in February, and nothing else. If he cared about the EFC he would not have renaged on the done deal with the Supporters Trust two years ago. If he had gone then, EFC would be in a far healthier postion, and would certainly have a larger fan base.

Still that was his decision, and I made mine to join ETFC after 30 years of following the E's. If you and the remaining E's fans in turn make your decision to do business with him, all I can say is tread very carefully, my friend.

Yours etc etc
Glyn Smith

A man is only as good as his word. A man who goes back on his word ain't much of a man.

You chose, we chose.

Hope you win your matches over Christmas, hope we do!

[color:"blue"] You know this can not be answered on this message board, but everyone know who started thing going and who Tiger is on about

As for merging the two clubs, forget it. Too much water under the bridge, [color:"blue"] This is the best thing to come out of your gob for years too many broken promises by Big Tone.

Besides which what has EFC got to offer? Oh yes, I'd forgotten, over 100 years of tradition, and err, what else other than 50 or so (and I may be being generous there) highly loyal fans who, [color:"blue"] Dont forget the place in the Ryman Premier Division

if we are stooping to name calling, follow Big ones boys lemming-like all around the home counties in search of a 'home' game. Hendon, St Albans, Boreham Wood, Bishops Stortford, Cheshunt, the list just goes on and on. [color:"blue"] Correct me if iI am wrong, Hendon and St Albans and Bishops Stortford were all before Town started and most of you were going to them games as well, and I dont recall a full League or Cup match at Cheshunt

Wake up and smell the roses - the only reason he may, and I do say may want out is due to the impending FA hearing in February, [color:"blue"] Good Point and nothing else.

If he cared about the EFC he would not have renaged on the done deal with the Supporters Trust two years ago. [color:"blue"] I would refere you to the point in at the top about [color:"red"] 'few egomaniacs on an ego trip' [color:"blue"] that will answer your question

If he had gone then, EFC would be in a far healthier postion, and would certainly have a larger fan base. [color:"blue"] totally agree

Still that was his decision, [color:"blue"] sure was and I made mine to join ETFC after 30 years of following the E's. [color:"blue"] you sure have and good on you If you and the remaining E's fans in turn make your decision to do business with him, all I can say is tread very carefully, my friend. [color:"blue"] thank for the advise

[color:"blue"] cheers glyn

I know people will probably say this is none of my business (not being a supporter of either Enfield) but just want to pick up on one thing Voice of Reason mentioned.

[color:"blue"] " Besides which what has EFC got to offer? " [color:"red"] " Dont forget the place in the Ryman Premier Division "

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there was a league rule that if you merged with another club you had to take the place in the league of the lower ranked team. So EFC's league status doesn't come in to it.

The Gazette artical reads:

<snip> .... "If I had known all the supporters were happy to drop to another level I'd have bought Cheshunt for £100,000," he said, "But I thought everyone wanted Enfield to stay in the Ryman League.

"The best thing would be if both Enfield and Enfield Town got together and were called Enfield and the supporters got together to fund a ground.

"And if it meant I had to go I would because it's about the football club.

"I understand some people departing because of me but we've got to come together again."

Good Point Steve

I missed that one a merger would leave the side in the ESL

Why would we want to play at that level.

Just to stir things up

Loads of rumours going around about the townies going to Cheshunt, not in the borough but who care.

we could share with Barnet and go into the new Conference South.
