Ruislip Manor 3 Aylesbury Vale 1

Recommended Posts

In truth I am slightly surprised by this scoreline but delighted none the less.

First half they started well and our keeper made three good saves and they had a 'goal' chalked out for offside. We hung in though and improved as half went on.

Second half was a different story as we played some great football and took a 52nd minute lead with a good finish from Mick Swaysiland. They thoughtthey got an equaliser when a free header hit the inside of the post but came out again with everyone of an Aylesbury persausion already shouting 'GOAL'. Then three penalties in six minutes decided it. First on 80 mins quicksliver Chris Henry got fouled and Swaysiland calmly despatched the spot kick. Then 4 minutes later when the striker himself was felled in the box by the keeper he completed his hat trick. Vale got one back from a penalty awared after a mystery pushing offence but we were good value for the win and could have added more hitting the crossbar and extending the glovesman into a good save.

Very pleasing win and a good performance in the second half. Will be a tough game at home to Enfield Town in the next round though.

We lost 1-0 to Tonbridge. We were very poor first 20 minutes, which cost us as they scored in that period. From then on we were on top, they didn't threaten at all, however we couldn't force a breakthrough and ended up dissapointed.

Should have got something from the game but heads up and we go again at Hampton on Tuesday.

I see you got on as did Nas Richardson. Hows Nas doing, I always though he had ability and he did well for Manor, Harefield and Hillingdon and could certainly play at a higher level. No sign of Ake, is he still injured?

Good wishes for the season anyway.

Spidermanor - Some good pics, thanks. Lato - Yes Takumi is out injured following the treatment he received in a pre season friendly at Braintree but I gather he might be back on Tuesday, clearly Hendon missed him today!

Cool, nice pics, what do you think of mine?. I use a Nokia 6280 2 megapixel, no idea what the shutter speed is, lol. They seem to come out good enough for a mobile. Take a look at my photo page on the forum site, by clicking the link under my name.

Looking forward to our games with you this season.

Yours come out well for a cameraphone, very clear. To be honest I had a 2 mega pixel camera before I got this one and I don't really notice any difference in the quality of the pics. A fast shutter speed just helps if the players are moving, slow shutters just blur.

....

The thing with the mobile camera is that there is a delay when you take the pic and it actually be taken. This worked to my advantage recently when I took a pic of us taking a corner and instead got the header from the corner that ended up in the back of the net.

Takumi is aiming to be back for Friday's game, he's a quick healer!

Nas is doing well, can tell you more in a couple of weeks.

Rak, I see Danny Edwards is also at Hendon. I think he might be the same player who had a couple of games at Manor a couple of seasons ago. Looked a bit raw then but had potential.
