A disappointing night for the E's, going 1 - 0 up, before Potters Bar equalised. Then they scored straight after half time to win the match. Full report to follow from TG tomorrow.

Enfield 1-2 Potters Bar

PBT were straight out of the blocks and Mark Whittington had to be alert on two occasions in the opening moments ,Dean Gilbert also made a good challenge robbing Ryan Harris , But on 10 mins a good through ball straight down the middle from Paul Oshin put Bret donnelly into a 1 on 1 with PBT keeper Richard Hayward , Donnelly rounding him and slotting home to put Es ahead. Es then went close as Sherwin Stanley fired straight at Hayward , A skirmish off the ball between Donnelly and Harris got them spoken to by the referree , A good challenge by Louis Lancaster took the ball off Richard Howard ,ON 25 mins PBT equalised as Dan Talbot's corner was floated to the back post and Ryan Harris crept in and headed home.A good chance for Es as Ricky Case had a shot charged down by Kieran Woodward ,And on 31 mins a Talbot freekick was volleyed inches wide by Harris ,A hoof upfield by Wes Borghys caught PBT out and Donnelly's attempted lob over Hayward was partly saved and the chance was cleared off the line by Harris as it rolled goalwards, PBT's Greg Pike was then booked for an off the ball incident. A Talbot corner was then headed just over Es Bar by Winger, On the stroke of H/T a fine cross from Ricky case and sherwin Stanley was inches wide with his header.

Almost straight from the kick off PBT went ahead an excellant run from Gabriel Fanibuyan and a pinpoint cross found Greg pike with Paul Daley saving only for Luke smith to have a simple chance to prod home the loose ball.Nick Winger then shot over Es bar from 20yards out ,A good shout for a penalty for PBT as Fanibuyan appeared to be taken down by Lancaster but the appeal was waved away by the referee ,A good run and shot by Fanibuyan was well saved by Daley. Es subs- Marlon Stuart & Danny Gabriel on for Johnson & Donnelly 54mins,Sam Judge on for case 60mins, Paul Oshins cross was well collected by Andy Keepence,Another fine cross from Fanibuyan but Howard headed wide. Keepence booked for taking down Marlon Stuart 68mins,Harris Off for Andy Martin 74mins , A shot by Luke Smith just outside the box well over Daley's Bar 76 mins , PBT's Ashton on for smith smith , Paul Oshin booked for a foul on Ashton, Marlon Stuart's shot blocked by Sam Ledger 84mins ,Fenibuyan off for Turner for PBT ,Danny Gabriel booked for a clumsy foul on Richard Haywood ,A poor clearence by Haywood gave Owen Beale a chance but Hayward just managed to keep out his shot from under his crossbar,Beale again seconds later shoots straight at Hayward and the final effort saw Richard Howard attempt to lob over Daley but Daley saved well.

A disappointing loss for Es and some strange Refereeing which affected both sides.

Fair report. After Saturdays good win with many chances playing 4-4-2, thought we showed too much respect playing 4-5-1 . This formation didnt work in pre-season why should it work now? Went ahead through good skill from Brett. More chances when we went to 4-4-2 but i'd like to see Brett play in 4-4-2 formation.

Like to see 4-3-3, with stuart, donnelly & gabriel up front, strong midfield & much tighter in defence, with stuart or gabriel dropping back into midfield when we are defending to help keep the midfield strong. Those three up front should score goals & frighten a few defences. Come on you E's, lets get winning again. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
