Sorry Paula - didn't read it properly, thought Yellow Angel had written 2-0 but after your comment and now looking again I realise my mistake.

Old age is creeping up and the mince pies ain't what they used to be you know!!!

We really should've killed them off with the amount of possession we had.

Charlie scored his in the first half, slotting past the keeper from one-on-one after a Maldon defensive error.

Maldon equalised about ten minutes later when a free-kick from the right landed on a free head, which Glen Johnson could only parr away into the direction of an onrushing player, who hammered home.

Nick Reynolds put Canvey ahead in the second half. Some great movement from Charlie Parker envoked a goal mouth scramble from which Reynold's poked home from ten yards.

Maldon equalised again after an incredibly sloppy defensive error from Colin Wall, which given the playing conditions could be excuseable and their striker, slotted home in much the same way as Parker did for us in the first half.

Good Canvey performances all round though: Lamb, Batch, Reynolds, Crow, No. 9 (Sorry didn't recognise you) and especially Matt Reade and Charlie Parker all stood out as did the coloured Striker when he came on, Victor someone?

Johnson, Jesus, Holmes and Wall all put in solid efforts as well.

Batchy, (Stuart) was very vocal in the middle and I thought the Ref had a good game, he tried to let the game flow and turned a blind eye to most of the dissent, (everyone heard Colin call him a c**t, except himself!) Their Coach whined a lot too.

Crow was taken off in the second half with a head injury, but should be fine for Saturday if required.
